What's aham?

Well, God's love and the love that we as men love with are 2 different things.

My love language is receiving gifts and quality time. I would seek to see what the person I'm in relationship with needs. With all that said, I would define as the Word does. The best description to me is I Cor 13:1-8. Love is not unseemly, doesn't seek it's own, not puffed up etc... :peace:

Love is a Mother that devotes most of her life to her children.

Love is a young Soldier that gives his Life so that his Brothers in Arms may Live.

Love is Sacrifice.

Love is Devotion.

Love is Surrender. Surrender to the Union of Two and to The Will of God.

Love is losing your sense of "self" and replacing it with sense of "Us"...of "We".

Love is The Holy Spirit...Love is GOD!

"God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him." - 1 John 4:16

I could go on for pages, but I believe you get my drift.

Love

Very good questionFor me love is different things.

It is the unconditional care and forgiveness that God gives us. The kind of love that brings tears to my eyes every time I think about it. A love that took me a very long time to accept I am worthy of.

It is the unconditional feeling I have for my children. No matter what they do I am willing to die for them and always welcome them with open arms. Just like the love my mom has for me. The kind of love that took me a very long time to understand and give to her freely.

With a person I hope to build a marriage with..it is a feeling that comes slowly. It is a friendship, an attraction even when the inital elation of being together has long since gone away One built on trust, arguments, caring, and the need to protect. The knowledge that the person isn't prefect, that they have their own thoughts, and opinions. It is being able to say you are imperfect but perfect for me.

Sorry the post is so long

Love is God.. it is impossible to love unless one understands the love that comes from Christ... it's unconditional...His love is more than enough...

but to me, to love someone means not having to say enough...you can never say you've love someone enough... even if you feel like you've given your best and all that you have, it will never be enough.. It is easy to love people who are lovable, but true love is loving even if they are unlovable and expecting nothing in return,

Love is like always having the ache in my heart to give the people I care about the best in life... it's a driving force that gives me both agony and joy... it's exhausting at times and sometimes I feel like my heart is not a part of me, for it can endure so much...but at the end of the day, i thank God that He has given me such a heart...when loving is difficult I look to Christ and I'm reminded of His love, ...His love is more than enough for me... From His love, i can love others...

I read something tonight, and remembered this thread...This moved me and I felt the truth in it....

~ Love has no awareness of merit or demerit; it has no scale by which its portion may be weighed or measured. It does not seek to balance giving and receiving. Love loves; this is its nature. (Howard Thurman)

I WOULD copy and paste what I've already written, but I'm afraid it's much too long... so here.

That is a link to a little...article/essay/thing I wrote a few weeks ago. It's basically my definition of love. People seemed to like it well enough... I'd love to know what people on here think. =)
