Romans 11:6ļæ½ And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.ļæ½

God's grace in Christ is not based on works or law.

Romans 6:14ļæ½ For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the law, but under grace

Works and law are contrary to God's grace.

Be kind: Keep your posts short, quote no more than two verses per post. If you can't do that, open your own "new topic." Thanks for helping with this discussion. I'll be honest with you, if you post a ton of verses, I don't read your posts.

Hi Montana, and Dave.

I believe Montanas assessment is correct, the 'christians' (a broad statement) do not understand Grace, the Gospel or who Messiah is according to the Scriptures.

Most 'christians' NEVER read the Word,as they are followers of men and do not question what they are being fed.

Calvary chapels teach a WORKS salvation,as with many of the denominations.

Almost everything about the so called church, even the church itself cannot be found in the Word of GOD Almighy.

If people do not understand the Gospel, Grace or who Messiah is, or what He is like, then who or what are they believing.

MG: It isn't my purpose in these posts to address our call to live pleasing to God(Colossians 1:10).

**living pleasing to God is not only found in Colossians 1:10 but itļæ½s found all over in Galatians too**

Should I really have to say that I recognize that there a multitude of verses that deal with our call to live holy lives? I only mentioned one verse. Should I have to list them all?

No, just speak the truth. Stop denying it because you don’t want to obey it

George and MG allow me to ask this question. Is ok for Christians or believers in the Messiah to continue a life disobedience and still be saved?

Let me ad a few additional specifics regarding my question by asking this way. Can a person be still ā€œsavedā€ even while he continues to participate in habitual sinning? Many churches teach this. How would either of you respond?

George I’ve read many of your objections to the the word ā€œchurchā€. I agree with you the word has been used in ways that confuse the biblical meaning. But usages such as this one: Romans 16:5, ā€œGreet the church that is in their houseā€ and like many others is contextually clear and hardly confuses the original meaning of the Greek term.

John 15:1-4: Jesus says, "I am the true vine, and My Father is the gardener. He **CUTS OFF** every branch in Me that bears **NO FRUIT**, while every branch that does bear fruit He prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in Me, and I also will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches.**IF** you remain in Me and I in you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing!!"

John 15:16: Jesus says, "You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit--fruit that will last!!

Matthew 13:20-23: Jesus says, "The seed falling on the rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly **FALL AWAY**. {gracenotworkssaves claims they are still going to heaven??}The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it **UNFRUITFUL**.{gracenotworkssaves claims they are still going to heaven??} But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hear the and understands it. this is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown!!"

Matthew 21:43: Jesus says to Israel, "The Kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a people who will produce **FRUIT**!"

Revelation 17:14: They will wage war against the **LAMB**, but the **LAMB** will triumph over them because He is Lord of lords and King of kings--and with Him will be His **CALLED**, **CHOSEN** and **FAITHFUL** followers!

And so those who are **CALLED** **CHOSEN and **FAITHFUL** produce **MUCH FRUIT**!! And those who are not **CALLED** CHOSEN** AND **FAITHFUL** will **FALL AWAY and **BE CUT OFF**!!

Ephesians 2:8,9: For it is by **GRACE** you have been saved, through **FAITH**ļæ½and this **NOT FROM YOURSELVES**, it is the **GIFT OF GOD**ļæ½not by works. So that no one can boast. For we are **GOD'S WORKMANSHIP**, created in Christ Jesus to do **GOOD WORKS**, which God prepared in advance for us to do!

Hebrews 5:9 Jesus became the source of salvation for **ALL WHO **OBEY** HIM**!

I John 2:1-5: Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. We know that we have come to know Him **IF WE KEEP HIS COMMANDS**! Whoever says, "I know Him," but does not do what He commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. But if anyone **OBEYS HIS WORD**, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in Him!

John 14:21,23,24: Jesus says, "Whoever has My commands and **KEEPS THEM** is the one who loves Me... Anyone who loves Me will **OBEY MY TEACHING**, My Father will love them, and We will come to them and make Our home with them."

David,

You said

"No, just speak the truth. Stop denying it because you don’t want to obey it."

I don't know you or what your background is. You can say what you want obviously. And I can speak the truth as I understand it. I have never denied that believers are called to live lives pleasing to God. Plus you attribute to me insincere motives. As far as I'm concerned, for you, this is less about what Scripture says and more about what you say.

Montanagrace, if you agree living a holy life is biblical and obedience is part of that (I’m not suggesting salvation by works or works that keep one saved), then I owe you an apology and it is me that attributed to you wrong motives. After I send that hasty reply about you not wanting to obey, I began to wonder if I might have jumped to conclusions and misrepresentated something you said. If indeed I misrepresented you, I’m very sorry and I’ll take your word for it that you believe Christians are encouraged in scripture to live holy lives though sometimes they do not do so perfectly (like some of my actions continue to illustrate).

Your comment about me writing only my thoughts is not acurate (if I understand you right) and I respectfully disagree. In my replies I referenced several scriptures.

It’s not my intention to be harsh but sometimes i think I come across that way especially if I carelessly misrepresented you.

I hope you continue to post items here. Though we may disagree, maybe only occasionally, I believe you to be a thoughtful person
