Admin	I have a question: Who else uses essential oils? Posted : 7 Oct, 2012 03:07 PM I rarely take medication of any type because of the side effects. Instead, I use essential oils. Why? Well, I've used medication such as "ibuprofen" to get rid of headaches in the past, but the headaches simply go away only to come back a day or so later. I'm not sure why that happens, but it does. But anyway, there are many different types of headaches, and I've found that essential oils will usually get rid of my headaches very quickly. However, I've also found out through experience that certain essential oils won't work for some headaches. For example: When I first started using essential oils, I used peppermint oil to try to get rid of headaches, and it usually worked...but sometimes it didn't help at all, and actually made the headaches worse! So finally I got mad one night a few months ago when this happened...because I had a headache that was so bad that it felt like my head was going to split! Needless to say, I got the health books out and started reading to find out what the problem was, because I knew the peppermint oil had normally gotten rid of my headaches in the past. Finally I found out why the headache got worse...turns out, I had a "high blood pressure headache"...and peppermint oil has actually been known to make those types of headaches worse. I wasn't happy when I found that out...but now that I knew the headache I had was due to high blood pressure, I searched and found out which oils were good at lowering blood pressure. Soon I was feeling much better...because the clove oil did the trick. The clove oil got rid of the pain in about 2 minutes...so you know I was thrilled! :) Does anyone else on here use essential oils for anything such as headaches? By the way, it only took one or two drops of clove oil to get rid of the high blood pressure headache I was having that night. :) Post Reply

Some would have us believe that some of these cure almost everything. If I knew more about what oils actually did what then I would be more prone to use them. Post Reply

As a matter of fact, I've heard that they were man's first medicine. Sometimes a certain oil will work for one person, but won't work for another person...you just have to find the one that works for you. Anyway, just make sure you buy a reputable brand, because some brands aren't "100 percent pure therapeutic grade". Long story short, if it isn't 100 percent pure, then it's not going to give good results (if any results at all). The brand I use is so pure that it's labeled as safe for human consumption. When it comes to price of essential oils, you pretty much get what you pay for in most cases. :stop: HOLD IT!!! CORRECTION: SOME (BUT NOT ALL) of them are safe for internal use! Just thought I'd clear that up before someone ends up in the hospital or dead. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE LABEL AND THE SAFETY DATA FOR ANY OIL THAT YOU PLAN TO USE!!! Some oils can only be applied to the skin or diffused into the air by using a diffuser. I'd suggest getting one of the oils books that lists the different uses of each oil. Some of the oils can't be used safely under certain conditions (if you're "seizure susceptible" and so forth), so make sure you read the information for whatever oils you're thinking of using. Posted : 9 Oct, 2012 08:17 AM You know, according to an essential oils DVD I watched, the people who robbed the tombs in Egypt years ago would steal the oils, but leave the gold, silver, and jewels behind. That may seem ridiculous, but back then the oils were actually more expensive than the gold, silver, and jewels. Plus, if you didn't have your health back in those days, then you really didn't have anything. It's actually rather interesting to me. Post Reply

I'm hearing impared, and my hearing aids make my ears (squishy) A little tea tree oil on a q-tip takes care of that! :stop:Very Drying Don't use straight unless you're used to it. most mix it with EVOO extra virgin olive oil.
