Man's religion & God's religion

Man's religion is to build up the creature. God's religion is to

throw the creature down in the dust of self-abasement, and to

glorify Christ.

This is a true statement and the human religion of humanism is overwhelmingly taking our country.

Humanists believe mankind is the highest entity. (Man is the measure of all things.) It thinks that people should feel good about themselves regardless of their behavior. Tries to deal with guilt by positive self-talk. Humanists believe some things are right for some people and some situations that may be wrong for other people and other situations. There is no absolute right and wrong. Everything depends on the situation. Since man is merely an animal, no sexual acts should be considered improper as long as it doesnt hurt anyone. Humanists believe some things are right for some people and some situations that may be wrong for other people and other situations. There is no absolute right and wrong. Everything depends on the situation. Believes that values, morals, and ethics are determined by each person for him or herself. Therefore, to tell someone else that their behavior is wrong or sinful is considered to be intolerant. Intolerance (defined this way) is not tolerated!

G-d says to esteem others higher than ourselves. Philippians 2:3 (NASB) Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves;

And of course the good ol golden rule love others as you love yourself. Oh yeah I almost forgot we all commanded by Y-shua to be SERVENTS!!!!

Please don't be offended but that's just wrong! Throw the creature down into the dirt? Really. Philpot was a little off I think and often.

First of all God does not have a religion. Although I realize He is assigned one for the sake of argument here. I agree that religion is man made but it is not always to exalt the creature. Many religions are interested in spiritual pursuits or at least at their core they are. Christianity and Buddhism as well as many Native American religions are examples of those that never should have been "religions" but their core beliefs are rooted in spirituality and transcending the trappings of the world and religion.

But I side track. No God of mercy and love is about the business of abasing his own creation. This is foolishness. He might then have sent the Lucifer rather than Jesus to bring condemnation on us rather than salvation. He is a God that lifts us out of our self-created abasement, our own filth, up from the miry clay and He sets us on a solid rock.

Puritanical Piety will get you no where. Its no surprise that such a quote would come from such a religious fanatic.

Yeah, I believe the bible is pretty clear that Jesus abased Himself to lift us up, to give us liberty and salvation, to call us friends and siblings, co-inheritors with Him, but in the sense that we put on Christ, it is only Christ that receives the glory. However, those He loves, He rebukes and chastens so that they will repent, not so He can mock us while we grovel in the dirt.

"Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the LORD of hosts."

Three "Saith the Lord" in one verse? I guess He wanted us to know it was Him talking.
