Sabbath 6/20/15 Daytona SDB Church Pastor Wray sermon The Landmine of Fear Isaiah 41:8-13

======== ======= ========== ==

Have you considered how your emotions effect your life? Love influences our feelings and behavior. The same is true of fear. It influences our thoughts, conduct and physical health. Fear can hold us back from what God wants for us. Our fears may be hidden and that makes them more dangerous. God is more powerful than any fears our mind can imagine. In verse 10, God says not to fear because He will hold us with his right hand. God says to be strong because He is with us. The Bible says a cheerful heart is good medicine. We should not have fear. Ephesians 1:3 Praise God who has blessed us with spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus. Our God will meet all our needs. In Hebrews, God said He will never leave us or forsake us. We are never left to stand alone. God is always there with us. Dont Fear!!!

The six most common fears people have are:

1.Fear of poverty 2. Fear of death 3. Fear of sickness

4. Fear of old age 5. Fear of criticism 6. Fear of the loss of loved ones

Some fears are wise to have like a protective fear and the Fear of the Lord. We are to honor the Holy God whom we worship. We are not to deal with God like He is a toy for our pleasure! We are to have honor and have exaltation for the Holy God.

The negative fears that we have can enslave us. We need to be strong and know that God is with us. Fear should not hold us in its grip. God gave us promises so that we dont have to fear. Fear is damaging and we cant do Gods will. Our worries block our spiritual growth. This does not honor God in the least. Our anxiety is a way of saying that we do not think that God can protect us. Fear doesnt fit the life of a Child of God! The fears we have, should be handled quickly by remembering Gods promise that He will handle ALL things for our good!!

Fear can come from sins we do or things we have been taught. Fear can come from doubt of God or ignorance of Gods Word. We must dwell on Gods Word and on His promises. God Said It and That Settles It!!!! The anxious person is afraid to take risks and will be scared to do any adventure God has prepared for them. They will miss out on blessings. They will be doubtful of themselves. Fear will dominate and will become a landmine that destroys their desires. You only get true freedom when you give control of your life to God. Let Go and Let God!! How do we get rid of enslaving fear? First we must step out on Faith. We must trust in the Power of God. Take your eyes off the problem and look at God instead. God will set us free!

Isaiah 64:4 God says He will free us from the landmine of fear. We must seek God thru his Word and trust him to set us free. Why worry when you can pray? Trust in Jesus and He will lead the way. Understand that the Lord is with us and beside us as every moment. God loves us and promised to be with us. He says to not fear because He will help us and uphold us with his right hand. God will strengthen and help us always. ALWAYS!!!

This is our wonderful heritage as a Child of God. Embrace this and embrace God. Dont miss the wonderful things that God has for us. Dont miss out on things because you are in the bondage of fear. God promised that He will NEVER leave us or forsake us!! God wants us to proclaim our Faith and Confidence in Him. God wants to bless us.

AMEN

God said it and that settles it!!!!!

If we try to worship God as prescribed in the law of Moses, rather than worshiping as commanded in Christ's law, we are SEVERED from Christ and have fallen from grace (Gal. 5:4), and our worship is vain (Mk. 7:6-9).

As long as you continue to err with your BOLD TYPE SABBATH BANNER therefore clinging to the LAW;

I will continue to keep posting the bible studies concerning the sabbath. People need to understand scripture correctly.

Thank you for giving me a platform :peace:

I provided a Bible study for all whom are interested in TRUTH.

Gods grace to you

Sabbath

Bible study on the Sabbath.

Gen. 2:1-3; Ex. 31:13-17; Heb. 4:1-10

God's rest on the seventh day, following creation, did not set forth an ordinance men observed from the beginning.

It foreshadowed the Jewish Sabbath that was instituted after Israel's exodus from Egypt, and the saints' eternal rest (i.e., eternal Sabbath) in heaven.

Deut. 5:1-4, 12-14

The Jews were commanded to keep the Sabbath after God freed them from slavery in Egypt.

The Sabbath was not given to their fathers (e.g., Adam, Noah, Abraham).

The Sabbath was not observed by men until God commanded Israel (after crossing the Red Sea) to observe the Sabbath.

Ex. 31:13, 17-18

The Sabbath was a sign of the covenant God made with the Israelites, instituted after their exodus from Egypt.

Israel had not previously observed the Sabbath.

The Sabbath was not commanded to the Gentiles.

Ho. 2:11

Hosea prophesied that God would put an end to sabbaths.

God put an end to the observance of Sabbaths at the cross, at which time the Mosaic Law was abolished and put to death (Eph. 2:15-16; Col. 2:13-14).

Ex. 31:14; 35:2

Anyone desiring to keep the Sabbath must kill anyone in his household who profanes the Sabbath.

Ex. 16:29

If anyone keeps the Sabbath, he must stay at home. Therefore, he cannot go to a church service on the Sabbath.

Ex. 16:23; 35:3

If someone keeps the Sabbath, he cannot kindle a fire or cook food on that day.

Num. 28:9-10

Anyone keeping the Sabbath must have a Jewish priest offer an animal sacrifice for him.

Neh. 9:14

God made His Sabbath known to Israel, not to the Gentiles.

Rom. 14:5; Col. 2:16

Christians can observe the Sabbath if they choose. But, they cannot bind it upon other people and they cannot make observance of the Sabbath a part of the church's worship.

Heb. 7:12-14

God changed the law. We do not worship on the Sabbath as God commanded the Jews.

We must obey Jesus (Heb. 5:9) and worship as He commands, in fulfillment of His law (Gal. 6:2; 1 Cor. 9:21).

If we try to worship God as prescribed in the law of Moses, rather than worshiping as commanded in Christ's law, we are severed from Christ and have fallen from grace (Gal. 5:4), and our worship is vain (Mk. 7:6-9).

Heb. 8:7-13

Corresponding to the fact that we live under a different law than the Jews who came out of Egypt, we also live under a different covenant (Heb. 8:7-13).

The Sabbath was sign of the covenant God made with Israel when they came out of Egypt. When the covenant ceased to exist, the sign also ceased.

Men do not keep the Sabbath as a religious ordinance from God today, because the old covenant is no longer in effect.

Acts 20:7; 1 Cor. 16:2

The day of worship to partake of the Lord's Supper and take up a collection for the saints is the first day of the week (i.e., Sunday). This day of worship cannot be changed to the seventh day of the week (Col. 3:16-23; 1 Cor. 4:6; Rev. 22:18-19).

The first day of the week is the day following the Sabbath. The first day of the week is Sunday (Matt. 28:1; Mk. 16:1-2; Lk. 24:1; Jn. 20:1).

Colossians 2:16

Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

Romans 14:6

1Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. 2For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs. 3Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him. 4Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. 5One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. 6He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. 7For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. 8For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. 9For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.

These verses cut both ways. If someone desires to keep the Sabbath of the bible, they should not be condemned for it. The same attitude you condemn is the one you're displaying right now, only instead of saying "you must keep", you're saying "you must not keep". Both of those are legalism.

1 John 3:4

"Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 5And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin."

We only know sin by the law. So in the same way adultery/murder/idolatry is still sin, so is breaking the holiness of the Sabbath. By that reasoning, I cannot go against the convictions of my conscience and sin against God. Jesus, the apostles, and the gentiles, they all kept the Sabbath. Everyone in the bible kept the 7th day Sabbath. Taking up an offering on the first day, or breaking bread which they did everyday, does not transfer the solemnity or holiness of the memorial of God's creative power to a different day. Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath, the Lord's day is the Sabbath throughout the bible, it was a holy day before the old covenant and it will continue to be holy in the future. If you don't feel the same way, then I believe you might be stronger in the faith, but either way, we can talk about these things and not argue or condemn. As Paul implies, the most important thing is not what day goes where, it's treating each other with respect and christian love.

I would hope you would take advice from Paul. Maybe John. If it's bad or wrong advice, I'd like to know how it's bad. If you don't want to discus it, that's fine, but for the sake of everybody else, you might want to post a defense of your views before the evil SDA brainwashes everybody.

:devil::rolleyes:

Romans 14:10

"But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ."

I'm afraid you don't know me or my religion, if you did, you might at least treat me like someone who wants to do the same will of the same God, but who God might be leading in a different path than you. Maybe God put me here to change the Adventists minds with the truth that you're supposed to share with me. But if you decide that silence and condemnation are better approaches, then perhaps your religion is the false one.
