Sabbath 9-3-16 Seventh Day Baptist Daytona Pastor Wray sermon What is a Living Sacrifice? Romans 12:1-2

------------------------ ------------------- ---------------------

Whats a living sacrifice? We are to give God our bodies as a living sacrifice. Many dont like the word sacrifice. They think its painful, difficult or unpleasant. We need to understand the nature and character of God. This will help us understand that sacrifice is not always unpleasant. We can come to understand Gods nature when we experience Him as a loving father thru our faith in Jesus Christ.

We then will have a relationship with God.

God is not a tyrant nor is He not concerned about our lives. God loves us. The word sacrifice means to make something sacred or it is an offering to a deity, a god. A sacrifice is also the surrendering of something that is valued or loved by us. Sacrifice can also be a loss of something valuable to us. Most Christians think of the last definition of sacrifice. We need to know that sacrifice doesnt always involve suffering.

In our text, Paul is explaining that success is built on sacrifice. A successful football player must make sacrifices so he can put the game fist. This is how he will be a successful football player. Its the same way with getting a college education. A student will have to make sacrifices. He will have to decline parties or hang outs so he can study and do well in school. If a Christian want to be closer to God then he must sacrifice things to put the will of God first in his life. We must sacrifice our ways, our wants to the ways of God. Jesus sacrificed His life so He would have the joy of glorifying God and saving people at the same time. Jesus was willing to become a dead sacrifice because He had already become a living sacrifice to God.

We need also to become a Holy sacrifice to God. This means we are dedicated and separated for the use of God. The Good Samaritan made himself available for the use of God when he helped the dying man on the side of the road. Being a living sacrifice is a complete sacrifice to the service of God. This is more than going to worship services each Sabbath. A living sacrifice is a joyful sacrifice. Our Savior is the Good Shepherd who leads his sheep. Jesus doesnt make us or drive us anywhere we dont want to go.

Christian Joy makes being a living sacrifice possible. We will experience inward joy and sacrifice when we give ourselves unconditionally to the service of God. The God who gave us His Son to die for us, will not spare anything for us. The more we give of ourselves to God, the more God will give to us. God bestows on us the richest gifts that one can experience. We will know how to live life in its richest quality when we give out lives to God and His Son Jesus Christ. May our lives be a living sacrifice that is dedicated to God so He can use us to bring people to Him.

AMEN

God has always allowed His people to suffer tribulation and trials because they purify and perfect their faith and will gain countless eternal rewards when Jesus Christ is *REVEALED. There are over 40,000 saints martyred every year and the main culprit is no longer just Islam and the Satanic Roman Catholic Church. Millions of saints were martyred by the Communist atheist countries after 1917 in Russia and after 1948 in China and then in North Korea and Vietnam. Many more millions were killed by Japan 1937-1945 and by the Fascists in Italy and Germany 1922-1945.

Romans 8:35-37: Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?... For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered. No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us!

I Peter 1:6-8: In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is *REVEALED.

I Peter 2:20b,21: But if you suffer for doing good and endure it, this is commendable before God. To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow IN HIS STEPS.

I Peter 4:12,13: Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But REJOICE that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when His glory is *REVEALED!

Saints martyred, and we are the sheep to be slaughtered, as living sacrifices . The sacrifices continued in Christs lambs, handed over to the Christian priesthood.

Prophetic quoted:

Romans 8:35-37: Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?... For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered. No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us!

God judges on judgement day who are His saints, it is not who died, because that is NOTHING, without charity..

Malachi 3:17 And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

18 Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

1 Corinthians 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

"THERE IS NO LONGER ANY SACRIFICE FOR SIN!!!" HEBREWS 10:18!!

Hebrews 10:11-18: Day after day every priest performs his religious duties again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But when this Priest had offered for all time **ONE SACRIFICE FOR SINS**, He sat down at the right hand of God... Because by **ONE SACRIFICE** He has made ***PERFECT FOREVER*** those who are being made holy. The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says: "This is the covenant I will make with them after that time says the Lord. I will put My laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds." The he adds" Their sins and lawless acts I will remember **NO MORE**." And when these have been forgiven , there is **NO LONGER ANY SACRIFICE FOR SIN**!!

Ephesians 1:5-8: In love He predestined us to be adopted as His sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will--to the praise of His **GLORIOUS GRACE**, which He has freely given us in the One He loves. In Him we have **REDEMPTION THROUGH HIS BLOOD**, the **FORGIVENESS OF SINS**, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding!

Ephesians 2:4-10: Because of His great love for us, God,, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is **BY GRACE** you have been saved! And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages He might show the incomparable riches of His grace, expressed in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is **BY GRACE** you have been saved, through faith-- and this **NOT FROM YOURSELVES**, it is the **GIFT** of God--**NOT BY WORKS**, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do!

Hebrews 9:25-28: Nor did He enter heaven to offer Himself again and again, the way the high priest enters the Most Holy Place with blood that is not his own. Then Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world. But now He has appeared **ONCE FOR ALL** at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of Himself. Just as man is destined to die once , and after that to face judgment, so Christ was **SACRIFICED ONCE TO TAKE AWAY THE SINS OF MANY PEOPLE**!!

Hebrews 7:27: Unlike the other high priests, He does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for His own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He **SACRIFICED FOR THEIR SINS ONCE FOR ALL** when He offered Himself!!

Hebrews 10:8-10: First He said, "Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings You did not desire although the Law required them to be made. Then He said, "Here I am, I have come to do your will." He set aside the first to establish the second. And by that will, we have been made holy through the **SACRIFICE OF THE BODY OF JESUS ONCE FOR ALL**!!

Waiting for God is free to post whatever. I do not mind at all, the only people who mind are selfish enviuos greedy unloving unkind fierce devils, because when asked to go a mile, we go two, we do whatever is asked of us, and the forums are places of freedom, not like islamic where you are not free to express yourself.

As for sacrifice, they continue, Christ continues to be the offering for Christians and Christians themselves become a priesthood to God to offer ourselves the sacrifices..

Romans 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

1 John 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

1 Peter 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

GOD'S BORN AGAIN FROM ABOVE SAINTS ARE **WASHED**, **SANCTIFIED** AND **JUSTIFIED**!!

I Corinthians 6:9-11: Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God. Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you **WERE**. But you were **WASHED**, you were **SANCTIFIED**, you were **JUSTIFED** in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of God!!

CAN GOD'S BORN AGAIN FROM ABOVE WHO ARE **WASHED**, **SANCTIFIED** AND **JUSTIFIED** LOSE THEIR SALVATION??

John 6:37,39,44: Jesus says, "**ALL** that the Father gives Me **WILL** come to Me, and whoever comes to Me I will **NEVER** drive away... And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall **LOSE NONE** of all that He has given Me, but raise them up at the Last Day.... No one can come to Me **UNLESS** the Father who sent Me **DRAWS HIM**, and I will raise him up at the Last Day!!"

DO GOD'S BORN AGAIN FROM ABOVE SAINTS STILL SIN AFTER THEY ARE SAVED??

I John1:8-10: If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar and His Word has no place in our lives!!

Luke 10:2-4: Jesus said to His disciples, "When you pray, say: '*Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Give us each day our **DAILY** bread. **FORGIVE US OUR SINS**, for we forgive everyone who sins against us!!'"

CAN GOD'S BORN AGAIN FROM ABOVE SAINTS LOSE MANY HEAVENLY ETERNAL REWARDS IF THEY FAIL TO ASK FORGIVENESS FROM THEIR DAILY SINS; AND FAIL TO FAITHFULLY USE THE GIFTS GOD HAS GIVEN TO THEM??

Matthew 16:27: Jesus says, The Son of Man is going to come in His Father's glory with His angels and THEN He will **REWARD** each person according to what he has done!

2 Corinthians 5:9,10: We make it our goal to please Him... for we must all appear before the Judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive **WHAT IS DUE HIM** for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

1 Corinthians 3:13-15: His work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work. If what he has built survives , he will receive his **REWARD**. If it is burned up he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.

Colossians 3:23-25: Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a **REWARD**. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for his wrong, and there is no favoritism.

I Corinthians 9:24-27: Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes in to strict training. They do it to get a **CROWN** that will not last; but we do it to get a **CROWN THAT WILL LAST FOREVER**! Therefore, I do not run like a man running aimlessly. I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize!

2 John 1:8: Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be **REWARDED** fully!.

Revelation 3:11: Jesus says, I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your **CROWN**!

SALVATION IS 100% FREE BUT HEAVENLY REWARDS ARE 100% EARNED!!

Ephesians 2:8,9: For it is by grace you have been saved, through faithand this not from yourselves, it is the **GIFT OF GOD****NOT BY WORKS**, so that no one can boast.

What is a living sacrifice..

Christ came to give us a new way, but it is the same way, but a living way. Living waters, not just drinking and being thirsty again. Not just sacrificing and needing new sscrifices again and again. Not keeping the as best as we can, then breaking them again and again. A living way, with life in us, and we keep the ways of life.

Acts 2:28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.

John 4:10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

Hebrews 10:20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

Jesus tells us how they did well to eat manna in the wilderrness. But they died. Christ always does the same for us, changing nothing, but now He is the living bread, that we eat and do not die. We present our bodies also, a LIVING SACRIFICE, because the first commandments are good, but in stone. The next stone, Christ, is living. We gave these ordinances of God written in the tables of our heart, and we also are lively stones, and a holy priesthood, and do offer the same sacrices to the Lord, but this time acceptable and spiritual..

John 6:49 Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.

50 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2 Corinthians 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

1 Peter 2:4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,

5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, ACCEPTABLE to God by Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 49:8 Thus saith the LORD, In an ACCEPTABLE time have I heard thee, and in a day of SALVATION have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a COVENANT of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;

Repaid or rewarded, whatever wording, we receive for what we do, the lake of fire, or not hurt of the second death, idolaters seek for what the can get, believers know it is better to give than to receive.

Born again or pre born again...

Luke 10:2-4: Jesus said to His disciples, "When you pray, say: '*Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Give us each day our **DAILY** bread. **FORGIVE US OUR SINS**, for we forgive everyone who sins against us!!'"

John 7:39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

3 And hereby we do know that WE KNOW HIM, IF WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS.

4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1 John 2:29 If ye know that he is righteous, YE KNOW THAT EVERY ONE THAT DOETH RIGHTEOUSNESS IS BORN OF HIM.

1 John 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him PURIFIETH HIMSELF, EVEN AS HE IS PURE.

2 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

3 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

4 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

5 Little children, let no man deceive you: HE THAT DOETH RIGHTOUSNESS IS RIGHTEOUS, even as he is righteous.

6 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

7 WHOSOEVER IS BORN OF GOD DOTH NOT COMMIT SIN; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

8 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: WHOSOEVER DOETH NOT RIGHTEOUSNESS IS NOT OF GOD, neither he that loveth not his brother.

There are some who claim that when a person becomes a born again from above Christian that he will no longer commit any sins????

Take Peter for example:

Matthew 16:24: Jesus said to Peter, "Get behind Me Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men!"

Matthew 26:75: Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken; "Before the rooster crows, you will **DISOWN ME THREE TIMES**!!"

Galatians 2:11-16: When Peter came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he was clearly in the wrong. Before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles. But when they arrived he began to draw back and separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the circumcision group. The other Jews joined him in his hypocrisy and even Barnabas was led astray. Paul said, When I saw that they were **NOT ACTING IN LINE WITH THE TRUTH OF THE GOSPEL**, I said to Peter in front of them all, "You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs? We who are Jews by birth and not 'Gentile sinners' know that a man is NOT justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because **BY OBSERVING THE LAW NO ONE WILL BE JUSTIFIED**!!

Then Peter repented of this sin in Acts 15:1-11: Some men came down from Judea to Antioch and were teaching the brothers: "Unless you are circumcised, according to the custom taught by Moses, you cannot be saved." This brought Paul and Barnabas into sharp dispute and debate with them. So Paul and Barnabas were appointed, along with some other believers to go up to Jerusalem to see the apostles and elders about this question the church sent them on their way, and as they traveled through Phoenicia and Samaria, they told how the Gentiles had been converted. This news made all the brothers very glad. When they came to Jerusalem, they were **WELCOMED BY THE CHURCH AND THE APOSTLES AND ELDERS**, to whom they reported everything God had done through them. Then some of the believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees {Like ADAM7777} stood up and said, "THE GENTILES MUST BE CIRCUMCISED AND REQUIRED TO OBEY THE LAW OF MOISES." The brother and elders met to consider this question. After much discussion, Peter got up and addressed them. "Brothers you know that some time ago God made a choice among you that the Gentiles might hear from my lips the message of the Gospel and believe. God, who knows the heart showed that the accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as He did to us. he made no distinction between us and them, for He purified their hearts by **FAITH**. Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of the disciples a yoke that we nor our fathers have been able to bear? No! We believe it is through the **GRACE OF OUR LORD JESUS THAT WE ARE SAVED AS THEY ARE**!"

Galatians 5:6: For in Christ neither circumcision no uncricumcision **HAS ANY VALUE**. The only thing that counts is ***FAITH*** expressing itself through love!!

Before this faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, locked up until **FAITH** should be revealed. So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by **FAITH**. Now that **FAITH** has come, **WE ARE NO LONGER UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE LAW**!!

Colossians 2:16,17: Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you **EAT** or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a **SABBATH DAY**. These are a **SHADOW** of the things that were to come, the reality, however, is found in Christ!!!

Galatians 3:10-13: "All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written "Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law." Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because, "The righteous will live by faith." The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, "The man who does these things will live by them." Christ redeemed us from the **CURSE OF THE LAW** by becoming a curse for us! [ADAM7777 disagrees with these inspired words of God!!}

CAN A NT BELIEVER LOSE HIS SALVATION?? WHAT DOES GOD'S WORD SAY???

Romans 8;29-33,35,38,39: For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of His Son...And those He predestined, He also called; those He called , He also justified; those He justified He also glorified. What shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His Son but gave Him up for us all--how will He not also give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns... Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?... For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels or demons, neither the present or the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord!!

Romans 4:7,8: Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will **NEVER** count against him!"

John 6:37,39,44,65: Jesus says, "All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and whoever comes to Me I will **NEVER** drive away...And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall **LOSE NONE** of all that He has given Me, but raise them up at the Last Day... No one can come to Me **UNLESS** the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise them up at the Last Day!... No one can come to Me **UNLESS** the Father has **ENABLED** them!!"

I will put My laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds." The he adds" Their sins and lawless acts I will remember **NO MORE**." And when these have been forgiven, there is **NO LONGER** any sacrifice for sin!!

"WE ARE SAVED BY FAITH WHICH IS THE FREE GIFT OF GOD--NOT BY WORKS SO THAT NO ONE CAN BOAST!!"

Titus 3:3,4: At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and **LOVE** of God our Savior appeared , he saved us, **NOT BECAUSE OF RIGHTEOUS THINGS WE HAD DONE**, but because of **HIS MERCY**!!

Romans 11:5,6: At the present time there is a remnant **CHOSEN BY GRACE**! And if by grace it is **NO LONGER BY WORKS**; if it were, grace would no longer be grace!!

Romans 9:30-32: What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is **BY FAITH**; but Israel, who pursued a law of righteousness, has not attained it Why not? Because they pursued it **NOT BY FAITH** but as it were by works!!

Romans 4:5-8: To the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, **HIS FAITH** is credited as righteousness. David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness **APART FROM WORKS**: "Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will **NEVER COUNT AGAINST HIM**!!" {Psalm 32:1,2}

For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do!!

John 3:3: Jesus says, I tell you the Truth, no one can see the Kingdom of God **UNLESS HE IS BORN AGAIN!!"

John 1:12,13: To all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, he gave the right to become children of God--children born not of natural descent, **NOR OF A HUMAN DECISION** or a husband's will but, **BORN OF GOD**!!

John 6:37,39,44,65: Jesus says, "**ALL** that the Father gives Me **WILL** come to Me, and whoever comes to Me I will **NEVER** drive away... And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall **LOSE NONE** of all that He has given Me, but raise them up at the Last Day.... No one can come to Me **UNLESS** the Father who sent Me **DRAWS HIM**, and I will raise him up at the Last Day!!... No one can come to Me **UNLESS** the Father has **ENABLED THEM**!!"

Romans 829-33,35,38,39: For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of His Son...And those He **PREDESTINED**, He also called; those He **CALLED**, He also justified; those He **JUSTIFIED** He also **GLORIFIED**. What shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His Son but gave Him up for us all--how will He not also give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those **WHOM GOD HAS CHOSEN**? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns... Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?... For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels or demons, neither the present or the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord!!
