Posted : 18 May, 2018 08:24 PM I don't want to give you my ideas what these verses mean, rather l prefer to explain what Paul was teaching here. According Paul's larger context, Paul had referred to tongues, prophecy and knowledge. All these speak about future glories but temporary tongues, prophecies and knowledge are only like seeing through a glass darkly and they'll pass away. Paul then uses the analogy of a growing child who puts away childish things (tongues, partial knowledge and prophecies), when he comes face to face with the real things of God in heaven. Be sure and fact check me with scripture, l try to be accurate but I'm not infallible. I didn't address enduring love here because the question you raised concerned Paul's "child analogy" Post Reply

It was something unclear or unpolished. It was probably a piece of metal. You could only see a faint image. as to the tenses, which word(s) were you focused on? Post Reply

Posted : 19 May, 2018 03:20 PM When I was a child (innocent and pure), I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things (you lost your innocence and were separated from God). For now we see in a mirror dimly (we have a difficulty seeing and hearing God speak to us due to the loss of our innocence), but then (when you were a child) face to face (you saw and heard God); now (as a sinful/non-innocent man) I know in part (you rarely hear God), but then (when I was a child) I will know fully (I saw, heard, and knew God) just as I also have been fully known (and God knew me and spoke to me). http://biblehub.com/mark/10-15.htm "Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all." We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and **LOVE** of God our Savior appeared , He saved us, **NOT BECAUSE OF RIGHTEOUS THINGS WE HAD DONE**, but because of **HIS MERCY**!! John 1:12,13: To all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, he gave the right to become children of God--children born not of natural descent, **NOR OF A HUMAN DECISION** or a husband's will but, **BORN OF GOD**!! John 6:37,39,44,65: Jesus says, "**ALL** that the Father gives Me **WILL** come to Me, and whoever comes to Me I will **NEVER** drive away... And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall **LOSE NONE** of all that He has given Me, but raise them up at the Last Day.... No one can come to Me **UNLESS** the Father who sent Me **DRAWS HIM**, and I will raise him up at the Last Day!!... No one can come to Me **UNLESS** the Father has **ENABLED THEM**!!"
