The Prodigal SonPosted : 11 Jun, 2018 06:12 AMMost of you know this story, but for some of you who don't it really is a beautiful story of forgiveness (something I think we all need to have more of in our lives). Obviously there were certain liberties taken in the movie, but it's still a very inspirational depiction. (Luke 15:11-32) |

The Prodigal SonPosted : 13 Jun, 2018 04:53 PMThank you for sharing. For sure, no one is more like The Father than when they forgive. Someone said the parable, which isn't titled in the text, could be titled appropriately, "The Forgiving Father". The prodigal son in Jesus' parable, of course, wasn't directed at Peter and he was more wicked than most English versions can portray him in translation. I agree with your "...taking liberties..." assessment. I would go further--the film actually created a rather novel account, from the life of Jesus, by distorting the Biblical narrative. But I still watch film like that but through the lens of a film critic |
