1. Ignore the Bible, consider it unworthy of your time and effort to understand it.
2. Disobey it. Jesus says disobedience darkens the understanding.
3. Do not seek God. Just allow the concerns of this world to crowd out his word.
4. When you regularly disobey, as a willful habit in your life and live without the slightest regard for godly repentance or brokenness over sin, you leave yourself open to the kind misunderstanding and deception the Bible warns about. Since you do not regard the knowledge of God worthwhile, you obviously forfeit the necessary information needed to identify false teaching and the false doctrines of devils. Willing ignorce also makes you easy prey for false teachers and their false teaching. False teachers also willfully disobey God’s Word and willfully ignore the proper rules of biblical interpretation—even while claiming to obey and love God. The Bible says a person who truly loves God and truly loves his word will have the necessary knowledge to identify false teachers and their teaching. The Bible says we can identify a false teacher by his fruit. A person who loves God’s word will be equipped to identify false fruit.

**WE KNOW THAT WE HAVE COME TO KNOW HIM IF WE **KEEP HIS COMMANDS**!! I John 2:3
Matthew 28:18-20: Jesus says, "All authority in heaven and **ON EARTH** has been given to **ME**! Therefore go and make disciples of all nations... teaching them to **OBEY EVERYTHING I HAVE COMMANDED YOU**!! And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age!"
Hebrews 5:9 Jesus became the source of salvation for **ALL WHO **OBEY** HIM**!
James 1:22-25: Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.**DO WHAT IT SAYS**! Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it--not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it--they will be blessed in what they do!
Luke 11:27,28: As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, "Blessed is the mother who gave You birth and nursed You." Jesus replied, Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and **OBEY IT**!"
I John 2:1-5: Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. We know that we have come to know Him **IF WE KEEP HIS COMMANDS**! Whoever says, "I know Him," but does not do what He commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. But if anyone **OBEYS HIS WORD**, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in Him!
John 14:21,23,24: Jesus says, "Whoever has My commmands and **KEEPS THEM** is the one who loves Me... Anyone who loves Me will **OBEY MY TEACHING**, My Father will love them, and We will come to them and make Our home with them. Anyone who does not love Me will not obey My teaching.
I Corinthians 9:21: I am not free from God's law but **AM UNDER **CHRIST'S LAW**!!
John 15:10,14: Jesus says, "If you **KEEP MY COMMANDS**, you will remain in My love... My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends. You are My friends if you do what I command!!"
Acts 5:32: God exalted to Him to His own right hand as Prince and Savior that He might bring Israel to repentance and forgive their sins. We are witnesses to these things and so is the **HOLY SPIRIT**, **WHOM GOD HAS GIVEN TO THOSE **WHO OBEY HIM**!
I John 3:24: The one who **KEEPS GOD'S COMMANDS** lives in Him, and He in them. And this is how we know He lives in us. We know it by the Spirit He gave us!!
John 5:2,3: This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and **CARRYING OUT HIS COMMANDS**. In fact, this is love for God: to **KEEP HIS COMMANDS**! And His commands are not burdensome!
Acts 22:14,15: Ananias said to Paul, "The God of our ancestors has chosen you to know His will and to see the Righteous One and to hear words from His mouth. You will be His witness to all people of what you have seen and heard!"
There are about 400 New Testament commands which God's saints should all strive to keep with the hope of countless eternal **REWARDS** for faithful and loving service!!
Revelation 22:12 Jesus says, Behold I am coming soon! My **REWARD** is with Me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done!
Matthew 16:27: Jesus says, The Son of Man is going to come in His Father's glory with His angels and THEN He will **REWARD** each person according to what he has done!"
John 16:12-14: Jesus says, "I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own, he will only speak what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify Me because it is from Me that he will receive what he will make known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from Me what he will make known to you!" {The Holy Spirit inspired all the words written in the New Testament by Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, Peter, James and Jude!}
John 17:6,8: Jesus says, "I have revealed You to those whom You gave Me out of the world. They were yours, You gave them to Me and they have **OBEYED YOUR WORD**... For I gave them the words you gave to Me and they accepted them!
Luke 6:46-49: Jesus says, "Why do you call Me, 'Lord, Lord' and do not do what I say?? As for everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and **PUTS THEM INTO PRACTICE**, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears My words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete!"
John 12:48: Jesus says, "There is a judge for the one who does not accept My Words; the very words I have spoken will condemn them at the Last Day!"
Romans 6:17,18; But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to **OBEY FROM YOUR HEART** the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. You have been set free from sin and become slaves to righteousness!
I Peter 1:22-25: Now that you have purified yourselves by **OBEYING THE TRUTH** so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply from the heart. For you have been born again through the Living and Enduring Word of God... And this is the Word that was preached to you!
Aham3: I can understand that since you are a Roman Catholic you do not believe that God's Word has the answer to every Spiritual question since:
**ACCORDING TO THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH THE POPE HAS THE POWER TO CHANGE GOD'S WORD**
"The Pope takes the place of Jesus Christ on earth...by divine right the Pope has supreme and full power in faith, in morals over each and every pastor and his flock. He is the true vicar, the head of the entire church, the father and teacher of all Christians. He is the infallible ruler, the founder of dogmas, the author of and the judge of councils; the universal ruler of truth, the arbiter of the world, the supreme judge of heaven and earth, the judge of all, being judged by no one, God himself on earth." (Quoted in the New York Catechism)
"The Roman Pontiff, head of the college of bishops, enjoys this infallibility in virtue of his office, when, as Supreme Pastor and teacher of all the faithful--who confirms his brethren in the faith--he proclaims by a definitive act a doctrine pertaining to faith or morals.... The infallibility promised to the Church is also present in the body of bishops when, together with Peters successor, they exercise the supreme Magisterium, above all in an Ecumenical Council. When the Church through its supreme Magistrium proposes a doctrine for belief as being divinely revealed, and as the teaching of Christ, the definitions must be adhered to with the obedience of faith. This infallibility extends as far as the deposit of divine revelation itself." (Catechism of the Catholic Church, #891, 1994 edition)
Those who classify themselves as Christians can be divided into 2 broad groups: those who have chosen to allow the Bible to be their final authority and those who have chosen to allow men to be their final authority. For sake of simplicity, I shall refer to the first group as "Bible believing Christians." The latter group has always been best represented by Roman Catholicism, by far its largest, most powerful, and most influential component. The Roman Catholic hierarchy has always boldly stated that it is not dependent upon Scripture alone, but also accepts tradition as another pillar of truth -- and where a conflict exists, tradition receives the greater acceptance. Being its own arbiter of what is to be accepted as truth, it accepts no authority as being higher than itself. This explains why the Catholic belief system has been constantly evolving over the centuries.
This also explains why a fierce antagonism has always existed between Bible believing Christianity and Roman Catholicism. Rome's frequent spiritual innovations excites the passions of Bible believers, who react adversely to religious modifications that are at odds with the eternal, changeless Word of God. Harboring a supreme confidence in the Book, a trust which reflects their trust in the Holy Spirit who authored the Scriptures, the Bible believers boldly challenge the suppositions of the Catholic hierarchy. In the course of this spiritual warfare, Catholic people are frequently converted from trust in Rome's complex religious system to a childlike faith in the Saviour and a simple reliance on His Word. Many such converts ultimately leave the Church of Rome to join local, New Testament churches. Frequently in history, the trickle of individuals who were making this remarkable transformation turned into a flood. Such ruptures cannot go unchecked by the Catholic hierarchy. As with any bureaucracy, its primary interest is its own protection and propagation.
**BUT WHAT DOES GOD'S WORD SAY**??
Pope in Latin means "papa" from Greek word "pappas" which means "Father".. Roman Catholics call the Pope **HOLY FATHER** and call all their priests **FATHERS**???
Matthew 23:9: "Jesus says, "Do not call *ANYONE on earth 'father,' for you have **ONE FATHER**, and He is in *HEAVEN*!!" This is an obvious reference to a **SPIRITUAL FATHER** since earthly fathers of earthly children are mentioned hundreds of times in God's Word.
And so according to Jesus calling priests 'Fathers' or the leader of the Satanic Roman Catholic Church 'Holy Father' is a terrible sin. And since Pope means 'father' it is also a terrible sin to call anyone 'The Pope'! And so 'Pope' Francis really means **FATHER FRANCIS** and he is completely qualified to be the future False Prophet of 666!!
John 14:23,24: Jesus says, "If anyone loves Me, he will obey My teaching. My Father will love him and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me will not obey My teaching. These words you hear are not My own, they belong to the Father who sent Me!!"
I John 2:3-5: We know that we have come to know Him {Jesus} **IF** we obey His commands. The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what He commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him, But if anyone obeys His word, God's love is truly made complete in him!!
Matthew 28:18-20: Jesus says, "**ALL AUTHORITY** in heaven and **ON EARTH** has been given to **ME**. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations...teaching them to obey **EVERYTHING** I have commanded you and surely I am **WITH YOU ALWAYS**, to the very end of the age!!"
Ephesians 1:19-23: That power is like the working of His {The Father} mighty strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the ***PRESENT AGE*** but also in the one to come. And God placed **ALL THINGS** under His feet and appointed Him to be the **HEAD OVER EVERYTHING FOR THE CHURCH**, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills everything in every way!!
Ephesians 4:15,16: Speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Him who is the **HEAD**, that is, **CHRIST**. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work!
Colossians 1:18 He is the **HEAD** of the body, the **CHURCH**... so that in **EVERYTHING** He may have the **SUPREMACY**!!
Ephesians 5:23: The husband is the head of the wife as **CHRIST IS THE HEAD OF THE CHURCH**, His body, of which He is the Savior!!
I ssen you atack other Christians and the crutch to divide us and the second anyone questions your beliefs you become defensive and attack the person question you.
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Matthew 7:15
I also see that your Southern Baptist. ( falling for your trap)
Let see what the Bible has to say about it.
The plan of salvation espoused and propagated by the Baptist Church is also wrong. Actually, it would be difficult to put down the exact position of the Baptist Church on becoming a child of God. Some say one may be saved by praying. Others say one is saved by faith without further acts of obedience. Others say salvation is by grace alone. But all Baptists deny that salvation comes through obedience to Christ, which puts them in opposition to the Bible.
Hebrews 5:8-9 records that Christ, through His sufferings, became the author of salvation to all them that obey Him. This is plain enough to be understood by all. But further, 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 records that those who do not obey the gospel will be punished with everlasting destruction. Thus, God has said He will save the obedient and will punish the disobedient.
Salvation is by faith and it cannot be denied. Many passages could be cited to substantiate that fact. John 3:16, Acts 10:43, Ephesians 2:8-9, and a host of other verses attest to salvation by faith. But the word "faith" is a comprehensive term many times when used in the Bible. The three passages cited are cases in point. The people on the Day of Pentecost heard the word preached, believed it, repented and were baptized. Yet they are described as people who believed (Acts 2:44; 4:32). The Philippian Jailor was told that he could be saved by believing. He heard the word and rendered obedience unto it, including being baptized the same hour of the night. Then he is described as a believer (Acts 16:30-34). So it took obedience to constitute the kind of believing that is indicated. The people at the house of Cornelius were told that they had to fear God and work righteousness to be accepted with God. Then they were told that they could have remission of sins through faith (belief) in God (Acts 10:43). Then they were commanded to be baptized in the name of the Lord (Acts 10:47).
The Baptist Church does not seek God after the due (divine) order. They change the order every time. The Baptist Church rejects every word the Bible says about being baptized. The Baptist Church perverts every thing the New Testament says in the "Deadly Contrast" which I have drawn. The Baptist Church misinterprets and misapplies every word the Bible says in their teaching concerning the final security of the believer. The Baptist Church nullifies every thing the New Testament says about what we may do with the things by which we are saved. The Baptist Church fails to take into consideration that salvation is conditional and depends upon what we do about the matter. The Baptist Church ignores every thing the Bible says about what a child of God can do.
According to the Westboro Baptist Church's website, the baptist church is planning to take their We Pray for More Dead Soldiers and Thank God for 9/11 signs and hate speech to Arlington National Cemetery on Veterans Day this Wednesday. -thehornnews
Aham 3: Actually I am no longer a Southern Baptist and I got a divorce before I was saved and after I was saved I could not remarry my wife since God's Word forbids His saints to marry unbelievers.
**SALVATION IS 100% FREE**
Titus 3:3,4: At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and **LOVE** of God our Savior appeared , He saved us, **NOT BECAUSE OF RIGHTEOUS THINGS WE HAD DONE**, but because of **HIS MERCY**!!
John 1:12,13: To all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, he gave the right to become children of God--children born not of natural descent, **NOR OF A HUMAN DECISION** or a husband's will but, **BORN OF GOD**!!
John 6:37,39,44,65: Jesus says, "**ALL** that the Father gives Me **WILL** come to Me, and whoever comes to Me I will **NEVER** drive away... And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall **LOSE NONE** of all that He has given Me, but raise them up at the Last Day.... No one can come to Me **UNLESS** the Father who sent Me **DRAWS HIM**, and I will raise him up at the Last Day!!... No one can come to Me **UNLESS** the Father has **ENABLED THEM**!!"
Ephesians 2:8,9: For it is by **GRACE** you have been saved, through **FAITH**and this **NOT FROM YOURSELVES**, it is the **GIFT OF GOD**not by works. So that no one can boast. For we are **GOD'S WORKMANSHIP**, created in Christ Jesus to do **GOOD WORKS**, which God prepared in advance for us to do!
Romans 12:3: For by the **GRACE GIVEN ME** I say to every one of you. Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourselves with sober judgment, in accordance with the **FAITH GOD HAS DISTRIBUTED TO EACH OF YOU**... We have different gifts, according to the **GRACE GIVEN TO EACH OF US**!!
John 15:16: Jesus says, "You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit--fruit that will last!!
Romans 9:15,16,18: God says, "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion." It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God's mercy... Therefore God has mercy on whom He wants to have mercy, and He hardens whom He wants to harden. {But God's saints still preach God's Word to everyone}
Revelation 17:14: They will wage war against the **LAMB**, but the **LAMB** will triumph over them because He is Lord of lords and King of kings--and with Him will be His **CALLED**, **CHOSEN** and **FAITHFUL** followers!
And if you are **CALLED** and **CHOSEN** by God you will be **FAITHFUL** for we are God's **WORKMANSHIP**
**AND SO SALVATION IS 100 PERCENT **FREE** but **ETERNAL REWARDS** are 100 percent **EARNED**!!
Ephesians 6:8: Serve wholeheartedly , as if you were serving the Lord, not men, because you know that the Lord will **REWARD everyone for what ever good he does!
Revelation 22:12 Jesus says, Behold I am coming soon! My **REWARD is with Me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done!
Matthew 16:27: Jesus says, The Son of Man is going to come in His Father's glory with His angels and THEN He will **REWARD each person according to what he has done!
Luke 11:33,34: Jesus says, "Sell your posessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a **TREASURE** IN HEAVEN** that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your **TREASURE** is, there your **HEART** will be also!"
Luke 14:13,14: Jesus says, "When you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be **BLESSED**. Although they cannot repay you you will be **REPAID AT THE RESURRECTION** of the righteous!"
2 Corinthians 5:9,10: We make it our goal to please Him... for we must all appear before the Judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
1 Corinthians 3:13-15: His work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work. If what he has built survives , he will receive his **REWARD**. If it is burned up he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.
How to Win Heavenly CROWNS:
I Corinthians 9:24-27: Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes in to strict training. They do it to get a **CROWN** that will not last; but we do it to get a **CROWN THAT WILL LAST FOREVER**! Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize!
2 John 1:8: Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be **REWARDED** fully!.
Revelation 3:11: Jesus says, I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your **CROWN**!
2 Timothy 4:7,8: I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the **CROWN** of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that dayand not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing!
The **CROWN** of Life for those who persevere under trials and persecution:
James 1:12: Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the **CROWN OF LIFE that God has promised to those who love Him!
Revelation 2:10 Jesus says, Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer... Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the **CROWN OF LIFE**!
Matthew 5:11,12: Jesus says, Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your **REWARD** in heaven!
Hebrews 10:32-36: Remember those earlier days after you had received the Light, when you stood your ground in a great contest in the face of suffering. Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult and persecution; at other times you stood side by side with those who were so treated. You sympathized with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions. So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly **REWARDED**. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you receive what He has promised!
I want to say this as gently as I can. I haven’t always been as gentle in some of my other posts to people but now l kinda wish I would have and l wish l could erase some of those posts! At the same time I don’t deny direct confrontational approaches have usefulness but surly if there’s any doubt, a gentle approach would be the better choice. Far better to error on the side of gentleness.
Anyway, as I looked over Richard’s posts on this last thread of mine, I believe everything he’s written is accurately presented and biblical. Comments concerning Roman Catholicism on this thread is also accurate and complete with footnote verification.
It should be noted the Roman Catholic Church also has a list of historic “anathemas” in tact to this very day that perhaps some Roman Catholics and other Christians might find appalling. Anyone wishing to accurately understand the totally of Roman Catholic dogma should be aware of these.
I agree it’s also good to check Baptist or any other denominational dogma against the backdrop of Scripture. There are many brands of Baptists some of whom certainly do not hold to scripture.
