Why we need denominationsPosted : 4 Jun, 2023 12:58 PMThe scripture passage i am going to use for this is Acts 15. Why do need denominations? First, because of accountability for your doctrine to stay biblical and second because of support for your Christian walk and your ministries in the body of Christ and also keep one another accountable as stated in Hebrews 3:13. But any denominational/nondenominational church that doesn't adhere to scripture is hence being controlled by the devil. Take for example the Ag denomination has a headquarters that keeps all the churches accountable for their doctrine and ministries. We need to keep accountable to others and keep one another accountable for our doctrine and ministries is entirely scriptural. We all need boundaries. I pray that this teaching will inspire you to be accountable as it says in Proverbs 27:17 in Jesus name. |

Why we need denominationsPosted : 4 Jun, 2023 02:47 PMIf two churches disagree doctrinally, debate and dialogue over the Word may be called for. This type of “iron sharpening iron” (Proverbs 27:17) is beneficial to all. If they disagree on style and form, however, it is fine for them to remain separate. This separation, though, does not lift the responsibility Christians have to love one another (1 John 4:11-12) and ultimately be united as one in Christ (John 17:21-22) |

Why we need denominationsPosted : 4 Jun, 2023 03:57 PMAmen to that homelesschristian, you brought up some valid scriptural points regarding this topic and true unity needs to be based upon scripture as mentioned in 1 Cor 1:10-17 and Eph 4:1-16, it just can't be on any basis. |
