Revelation 11:18 says the time has come for judging the dead, and for rewarding your servants the prophets and your people who revere your name — and for destroying those who destroy the earth.” Francis Schaeffer asked, "HOW SHOULD WE THEN LIVE?" Are we to care for this planet? Our first assignment, God placed man in the Garden to care for the garden. The first assignment ever given to man was caring for a garden. How are we to approach living on the earth? Are we to subdue it? There will be a new heaven and a new earth. Paul tells us not to be engrossed by the things of this earth. That the world in its present form is passing away. (1 Corinthians 7:31) Revelation 21:1, Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. Revelation 11:18 says the time has come for judging the dead, and for rewarding your servants the prophets and your people who revere your name — and for destroying those who destroy the earth(the people of God).” THE EARTH REPRESENTS THE COVENANT PEOPLE OF GOD IN THIS CASE ISRAEL. It's not about the planet Earth. Revelation 21:1, Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea(BRONZE SEA). THE NEW HEAVEN AND EARTH REPRESENTS THE NEW COVENANT. THE OLD HEAVEN AND EARTH(OT ISREAL)PASSED AWAY IN 70 AD. SINCE 70 AD WE HAVE BEEN LIVING IN THE NEW HEAVEN AND EARTH. THE SEA REPRESENTS NON ISRAELITES OR NON COVENANT PEOPLE. Notice that's its singular "sea" and not "seas" so this is not literal because there are many seas on this planet not just one sea. The bronze sea represented the gentiles who were not God's people. Now the gentiles are also at rest with the Jews in Christ and there is no more sea(people not at rest). Both Jew and Gentile are now ONE BODY in Christ which makes the the Church the ISRAEL OF GOD. But, Moonlight what does your comment have to do with the fact that we are n \ow living in the SPIRITUAL New Heavens and Earth(The New Covenant)? Post Reply

I doubt that we are living in a NEW HEAVEN and a NEW EARTH now. I pray to God it isn't so. Because the world appears worse than ever. Vaccines and vaccine mandates. Government intrusions and government over-reach. Gender reassignment. Men marrying men and women marrying women, We are further from the Bible all the time and farther from God and more away from the Garden of Eden. Not only is it the same old world, it is a worse one. So, how are we now in a NEW HEAVEN and a NEW EARTH when the world is worse? Like Moonlight, I too got a flavor of "replacement theology" out of your first response. The book sounds a bit wacky and a good bit off. So, is this NEW EARTH your permanent home? Should you care for the planet you live on? Or shall we destroy it? Post Reply

It's because you have been misled into believing the the New Heaven and Earth is PHYSICAL. It's not, it's SPIRITUAL otherwise we would not be in the New Covenant if it was yet to come. This physical planet is here to stay and there is nothing you can do about it. Post Reply

God created the Universe and He cares for the People. Look at who runs to arguments and Choas on this biblical. The Last man or men anyone should listen to for any Bible Teaching.
