Life has been built like a giant house of cards. Their is no reason for those at the top to reshuffle any of the cards. But in terms of under-earth mass transit transportation to and from major city point to other major cities, consider the cost of burrowing and consider that future wish-list for terrorists and consider natural disasters. It ain't going to happen or it is not likely to happen. We are better off being like the Jetsons. Post Reply

Already there are bullet fast trains that crash in Europe. Trains derail from hyper speeds. All fine and dandy when things go well. When things go badly, it is a high speed crash. AN UNFORGIVING HIGH-SPEED CRASH! But we all got to go sometime. The alien that crashed at Aurora, Colorado in 1897 speeding through the sky hit a windmill and died in crash. The aliens at Roswell, New Mexico also crashed his high-speed vessel and died. "THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS" "NEED FOR SPEED" - that is how James Dean died as well. It is all problematic. But it becomes another over-priced method to reduce the population as crashes and mishaps are sure to happen. There will be derailments and there will be crashes. Post Reply

Unimpeded traffic and an uninterrupted flow of traffic is a better approach to getting people to and fro. I have many such designs based on the German Autobahn. Our interstate system is also based on the German Autobahn. An unimpeded flow of traffic is better than a hyperloop system. As I stated, the faster the speed, the worse the crash. One knows they will happen. The crashes will be unforgiving. Post Reply

Engineers do not always slow down entering a curve or a turn on the track. The high-speed derails the vessels. Better a very straight track with traffic that only flows one way from destination to destination. But now with a.i. we can all be like "Michael Knight" in "KNIGHT RIDER" and fall asleep at the wheel and "KIT" the intelligent a.i. car will safely transport us to our destination while we nap. HOMER SIMPSON also fell asleep at the wheel while TRUCK-DRIVING in one episode of the Simpsons. But the special accident prevention feature kicked in and drove him safely to his destination. Anyway, WHY THE NEED FOR SPEED? Isn't it better to just arrive safely to a destination? One does not need hyper-speed or a hyper-loop. But the skies are better for hyper-speeds. People travel faster than the speed of sound in the skies. There is no need to travel the speed of sound over a track or on a cushion of air over a track or upon magnetic levitation over a tract. But on an episode of Ancient Aliens frozen mercury was used to create frictionless traffic of a hovering object that could travel a loop at any speed. Again, my concern is DERAILMENT. Other intelligent life forms have had their own mishaps with speed and crashes. That is sometimes how we recover and reverse engineer alien technologies. RECKLESS SPEEDS by human or alien. Post Reply

But people who do not practice the Golden Rule weighed heavy on my life. Of course, there were a number of people with good ideas before me that met up with the likes of Hitler and went to the grave without their ideas being made known. Post Reply
