Posted : 8 Sep, 2010 08:38 AM My dad was self-employed and made around $15-20k and my mom worked part time and made $15-20k. So the combined income of $30-40k is what they raised 4 kids on. We never needed anything. Had tons of toys(like that means something, lol). I think people have gotten spoiled. :peace::peace: Post Reply

Posted : 8 Sep, 2010 09:22 AM That's impressive, Mark! =) My mother stayed home w/ us (2 kids), but my father made a 6 figure income after awhile. In my opinion, it would have been fortunate if my parents had not always had more than enough because then maybe they would have actually had to budget or clip coupons or something that could have observed that could have given me a clue how to manage on much less. The idea of not going on shopping sprees weekly and of not buying anything other than the most expensive name brands was completely foreign to me. I think other spoiled children have the same problem with figuring out how to manage finances. So having a lot of money isn't only NOT a necessity in having children, it can also be to their detriment, I think. Post Reply
