What do you men think about "GOING SOLAR"?

Wouldn't it be great to lower our heating and cooling bills by going solar?

I'd sure welcome a small energy bill.

What are your ideas for going green and going solar?

I guess the question is how we prefer to die?

Solar and wind power in no way can replace the amount of power we currently use nor what we will need in the future. At most it will only be a supplement. There are a variety of reasons for this including the need for 24 hour energy production and not just when the sun is shining or the wind is blowing. We would need a heck of a lot of up sizing in those energy producers plus a huge amount of battery backup to make up for when there's less or no energy production.

Oil can be used, that is until it runs out and since the world is becoming very oil hungry it will probably dry up sooner rather than later. So what do we do when the oil is gone?

I have already made it clear that we need Nuclear power but the overwhelming amount of indoctrination that has taken out most peoples ability to think for themselves. Know if it wasn't for that a person wouldn't even have to understand how it all works but could still come up with the right answer just by looking at where and who the information has been coming from.

Both government and the environmentalist have been lying to us about almost everything. First it was global cooling, then it was global warming and now it's climate change. All of it was for control over the hearts and minds of people and one of those lies is about Nuclear power. Is it perfect? No but we need it more than most realize.

Whether we make it to the point where the lack of Nuclear power makes a difference remains to be seen but the effort that's been made with the climate change hoaxes makes me wonder exactly what their plans are. I do however see rationing of electricity among other things on the horizon.

I would like to be less dependent on the grid.

Being less dependent on the grid can take many forms. If you only want to be a little less dependent then that's easy to achieve but if you want to be a lot more independent then it's either going to involve being a lot less comfortable or your going to have to spend a fair amount of money or a combination of both. There are no short cuts.

I'm less dependent and could in fact live without the grid completely but I would be less comfortable. But with the grid and my system I have significantly lower bills but it came at a price.

I spent approximately $12000 dollars and put it all in myself which took a lot of hours not including all the hours I spent researching all my options. Had I paid someone to install it would have been at least triple the cost. My house is also relatively energy efficient with 2"x 6" stud wall construction and dual pane windows.
