You don't have to have a Ring to make that commitment. Thing is engagements are sometimes broken for whatever reasons. What man would want a woman to keep his ring given should the marriage not take place ? Any Comments ? Post Reply

It no longer had any meaning and I had no intention of wearing it again. An engagement ring isn't essential but it's a recognized symbol of engagement, it's a symbol that I like so yes I would want a ring... :-) Post Reply

I personally am not in favour of what I see as the blurring of masculine & feminine roles. I consider an engagement ring to be a feminine thing, given by "a man to to a woman" in contemplation of marriage. I wouldn't want a man who demonstrated what I consider to be feminine tendancies.
