Do you think it is important for couples to go to premarital counseling Before a marriage?

Should It be Preferably a Christian counselor ?

Moonlight, the perceived "very Wise for a young man" seen is simply a mere by-product of parentification. Experience is the best teacher.

It is not a weakness to seek counselling when things are not working out. If a young couple decided to resolve their personal issues with some assistance, what a significant difference could occur to that relationship and their bloodline.

CountryIvy, my statement was oversimplified. I'm referring to abuse as something that occurs habitually and is left unaddressed. Breakdown in communication would imply communication that builds contempt.

My dad you to say experience us the Best teacher. I believe it is. Thing is many people don't learn from Bad experience.

They date or marry an abuser, after they already parted from another one.

Trouble is abusers often masquerade as Christians and their true selves are not revealed until after the wedding. Like my sister. Poor women don't stand a chance.

Christians need to be lead by the Holy Spirit.

Maybe they won't be taken in by the devil so easily.

Oftentimes they lead by their flesh. What it desires.

Is that what happened to you, Moonlight? You have said that your ex-husband was/is abusive, haven't you?
