OK, no one is more surprised than me that I like this stuff! Most of you know Evanescence, but there so many more! I grew up listening to Judas Priest, Van Halen, Black Sabbath, and Stryper. My neighbors sang opera, but I hated it. Or do I??? Pat Benatar was classically trained and I liked her as a kid and Queen and ELO. As I've matured, I never stopped listening to the old stuff, but have expanded my musical taste in reggae, country, blues, jazz, and all the blends like symphonic metal.

I have albums by Hb, Within Temptation, and Nigthwish, though I haven't listened to them since the '00s. They do have a majestic, intense sound.
