Can't believe that no one has had theirs ripped out and handed to them by someone that they respected. Well,in that case, let me be the first to say, I have. In a word, I learned to pray. But after getting through the first hurt, I discovered that I then had something to share with the next person that had a spear through the chest. I love this verse, taken from the Amplified Bible: short and sweet:

And therefore the Lord earnestly waits expecting, looking,

and longing to be gracious to you;

and therefore He lifts Himself up,

that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you.

you will weep no more.

He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry;

when He hears it, He will answer you.

And though the Lord gives you the bread of adversity

and the water of afflictions,

yet your Teacher will not hide Himself any more,

but your eyes will constantly behold your Teacher.

And your ears will hear a word behind you, saying,

This is the way; walk in it,

when you turn to the right hand and when you turn to the left.

You shall have a song as in the night when a holy feast is kept,

and gladness of heart

as when one marches in procession with a flute

to go to the temple on the mountain of the Lord,

to the Rock of Israel.

Isaiah 30: 18-21, 29. Amplified Bible

I know how you felt, unfortunately, I wasn't with the man I loved for as long as you were. We were together for 1 year and about a week from our 1 year anniversary he left me for someone much younger. We were engaged to be married the next summer. The friends i thougth I had weren't my true friends. They left me when he did. My parents didn't want to hear about it and My siblings were too busy to be there for me. I had no one. That summer, I nearly died. I felt the same way you did and I also slept with a bible on my chest, or close to me. If it weren't for deep prayer and consulting with God, I wouldn't be here. For sure it made me a stronger person, but I feel now that a piece of me is lost that I can never get back. I hated him for 6 months. It wasn't until a few months ago that I could really forgive him and myself. I've started a new life now, and I know God is leading me where he wants me to be. God bless those who have had their hearts broken, and it is true what they say, "What doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger." I am stronger, I have survived, and God is the reason why. Glory to Him, forever!

That's a painful blow. It's good that you are facing it head on! Mark

Dotty, that last sentence you wrote about God has shown you he's not the right one for you, you deserve better and that your special one is on the way! thanks for that, girl! I needed to hear that.....God is confirming that over and over to me. Wow, God is awesome! Tammy
