Keeping the Sabbath
Posted : 11 Nov, 2012 06:30 PM

One of the main reasons Christ wanted us to observe a Sabbath day ( which I believe doesn't have to be a certain day of the week ), was so that we didn't get so wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of our busy lives that we forget to fellowship with Him. It is so easy these days to put Christ second and all those things we think we just have to get done first. He wants us to take a deep breath, be still, and know that He is God. He might even be able to get a word in edgewise to us during that time. :)

what is on his mind?

Trust those feelings, it is God talking to you. Whenever I start to conversate with a woman, ( and just 1 at a time ) I always pray to God that if this is not the one You have in store for me, show me quickly. He has been faithful in this and has saved me from some potential heartache I think.

There will be a man come along for you that can't wait to talk to you because what you say to him will resonate in his soul and trust God.

Men, what do you think?

I will have to answer to God one day for how I raise my daughter. The person I date/marry is already grown as am I, so my main concern is raising my child (and hers if she has them ) in a Christian manner. Any woman who does not agree with this is not for me.

How important is it to date/marry a lady who is sexually pure?
Posted : 11 Nov, 2012 05:47 PM

I made a promise to God when I got divorced to do things His way this time. Which means no sex or living together before marriage. I waited 3 yrs. before going on the first date and it's been almost 4 yrs. now. It is hard but I know it will be worth it when God does decide to bless me with another spouse. So for me it is very important. To make a commitment to God and stick with it is rare these days. I actually had a "Christian" woman dump me because of my stand on this. There is no half-way, you either commit or not.

Which is a bigger turn off?

I would have to say in my own opinion that girl #2 could do more harm to the body of Christ than girl #1.

Girl#2 being very passionate towards the wrong things is more likely to lead others astray as well.

Pornography.

I agree with kristiankidd, I too struggled with an internet porn addiction. And like him, once I brought it to my brethren in our men's prayer group, I was able to overcome it. One thing that really helped me and that I still use even being on my own is an internet filter company. The one I use is called True Vine Online. It is very effective, I can't even get things likr youtube or myspace. To get access to something you have to call them up and have them change it on their end. It costs $25 every 3 mo. or $75 yr. To me it is worth it not to have it in my face constantly.

GOD BLESS U ALL, FORUM FRIENDS
Posted : 31 Jul, 2009 06:16 AM

I agree totally with kristiankidd. These forums are a blessing. It is so nice to be able to fellowship with and learn from Christian brothers and sisters from all over the country and the world. So I would like to echo kristiankidd's blessing on everyone here and encourage more folks to participate.

singlerose,

Thank you and bless you for being a prayer warrior. I would like to add one for myself which is the release of all bitterness and resentment toward my ex and anyone else that I may be harboring these feelings toward. and again, thank you in advance. Mike.

loveandgrace, my brother, the last part of your post described my marriage to a t. It always felt like a battle instead of a team. I was not only never supported in doing ministry but was fought against it tooth and nail.

Ayn, if you are in a truly Godly relationship you will never have to worry about those things. If you are called into a ministry and your husband is a Godly man, he will support you 100%.

From a Physical Perspective
Posted : 26 Jul, 2009 05:25 AM

Not so much makeup that I think I'm with Tammy Faye Baker, not enough jewelry where I think I'm with Mr.T:excited:, and not dress like Britney Spears.

Everything in moderation and dependent on the circumstance. A woman who is comfortable with her looks no matter how she is dressed and carries herself with confidence ( not conceit ) is the most attractive to me.

This mainly means that she knows she is beautiful in the eyes of the Lord not worried about the eyes of man.
