I've seen some *interesting* ones on here that are along those lines. And I try not to be judgmental, but some of them seem rather, um, boastful. Then, there are the ones w/ their astrological sign in them: VirgoMan HotScorpio4U Or, the ones that describe who they're looking for in a rather *shallow* way: Looking4MySexyWoman WantingSomeoneHot Again, I try not to be judgmental but some of the names I see on here just make me cringe... Same if he contacted me first...if "MrSexy" doesn't have an awesomely filled out profile, nope. I agree with Pixy that there are some that seem boastful, many that sort of read "oh, lookie what an awesome Christian I am!" I was once approached via message on here by a guy whose screen name alluded to a preference for redheads, almost didn't even read the message. Post Reply

Posted : 6 Oct, 2010 08:32 PM You know, pixy, there's the right kind of judging and the wrong kind of judging, according to God's Word ... we're not called to make NO wise judgements concerning the characters of people and whether or not it would be wise to become involved with them, so ... my answer is: YES ... I decide, wisely, whether or not to contact some gals based on their choice of a user-name, what it says about them and their viewpoint about themselves. Besides their user-name, their choice of a "headline" may be a plus or a deterrent toward deciding whether or not to e-mail or wink at them after reading their profile ... I also prefer a profile that has enough information to give you something to refer to that you found you had in common to mention and elaborate on and ask questions about, don't you with the guys' profiles, pixy? I would see a username like "MrSexy" and be a little hesitant to initiate a conversation with that person, however, if they began the conversation i would politely engage unless they proved to be interested in topics that are either not appropriate or the personality that came across in the conversation was unappealing. However, I try to understand the reasoning behind a person's username... Take my username for example... there is a little story behind it. How you pronounce it also makes a difference too. It is not pronounced "passion 81" but rather "passionate one" get it... paschen-8-1? pas means to dance and chen means grace of God so... in essence I am a passionate one who loves to dance in the grace given by God wow... spelling it all out like that makes it look cheesy LOL Post Reply

Although, to be honest, I'm not really looking all that much. I was involved w/ someone and we just broke up over the weekend. I'm looking for friends... with possibilities... but my heart is still healing. I'm getting lots of messages, though, now that my profile is filled out again and I'm looking at those guys and responding politely =) Post Reply

I know what you mean ... our Lord is still healing my heart too over various situations and hurts and disappointments in my life ... like going through our sanctification process and growing more and more into Christlikeness, our individual healings are part of an ongoing healing process that won't reach complete healing until we are free from receiving further wounds to our already damaged hearts and spirits, which will happen when we either go to be with Him beforehand or it's time at last for Him to come back and establish His Kingdom in the new heaven and earth that will be free from all sinful treatment of people to each other, the "home of righteousness", of which we already have become citizens and belong in, but have needed to "wait on the Lord" for that home to be where we live and serve Him here and love and bless Him and others with His guidance and enabling, sharing our faith with them and the truth about His salvation, pixy ... this is our hope and our comfort in all of our heartaches, trials and tribulations here as we experience His continued healing process of our hearts, spirits and lives!!! :yay: Yay, Lord!!!
