Ok..so I know not all women are going to dig what I say. I dont know if I have said this before or not, but please for the love of your Christ, and your fellow brother keep your twins concealed. :) And I say it again because I am astounded by the number of profiles i see, where to much flesh is visible. :stop:

Im not trying to tell ya'll what to do, but two things you should be aware of. 1 Visual Stimulation :excited: -Marital Commitment=The Monster in us  , and/or Visual Stimulation-Marital Commitment+A Skilled Man :angeldevil: =Heart Ache for you. 2. If your thinking "we can just not look", you are right soooo that means the men who dont look may actually do so in a manner that may put you out of their visual range, so much so said man will flee; Man-sexual impurity=Godly man w/ integrity  .

So I'll ask again if you subtract a Godly man with the way you dress, what will you have left?

i don't think it's fair to stereotype a particular group of people. perhaps its the way they are brought up, eg, it being their culture. but going back to the question at hand, i think women with low self esteem dress in revealing ways to get attn from men which in turn will make them feel good about themselves. as xtians, we should know that perposefully dressing in a manner that will cause men to lust over our bodies is wrong. after all, don't we want our brothers and sisters to part of the marriage feast in heaven?

unfortunately, we can't dictate how people should dress so it's up to us as individuals really. whenever you feel like you're faced with temptation, say a quick prayer to remove the evil thoughts from your head or hum to one of you're fave xtian songs..if that becomes a habit, you'll find that in time lust won't have such a srtong hold on you.

Its not a sterotype, just an observation, I would like to talk to some latina women, but the ones Im attracted to are showing to much skin, so I pass them by.

I do that with my thoughts, but something that is real and present i must get away from. an immodestly dressed woman is like a plague to our eyes, if we linger we will fall, and therefore we must flee as my Lord has commanded.

You mean I have to start wearing clothes?! :goofball:

Bummer. I was SO enjoying being an exhibitionist.

Kidding... Of course. Very definitely kidding.

I agree with you, Rabbit... But modesty is definitely a heart issue. And it's important for those who are modest to talk with their younger sisters in the Lord and explain that our clothing/outward appearance ought to reflect the Jesus inside of us.

I agree with you that men are more "visual" and though they may struggle with it, women who post suggestive photos wearing clothes that reveal more skin really try their "will" to resist ...and so they look.

For Christian site, I think women should post appropriate photos that show what a real Christian woman is. Beauty is not hinged on showing more flesh, it is the inner beauty that we must show. That inner beauty can only be seen through communication and of course, profile information.

A woman who wants to glorify God must always remember He is the One Who will bring the right man to her life, and she does not need to show more skin than is necessary.

It does not really depend on culture or race, it depends on the woman's character, convictions, and her true relationship with God.

Boys will be Boys and Girls will be Girls but modesty on the part of both sexes is important. Being in the military for 27 years there were regulations for dress and appearance and you know it worked. We have His Living Word and the Holy Spirit to guide us on how we are to look. When dressed appropriately and pleasing to the Lord I'm convinced that this in itself will bring the right man or woman your way.

For myself I've always been partial to ladies wearing nice dresses but I know that this isn't always possible. A girl dressed nicely will attract my attention much more than when she is flaunting it; and that's the truth. Ones dress tells something about the person; that's something to think about.

Hope that you appreciate my 2-cents. My first time to comment on a forum.

God bless

Terry

Friend, are you assuming these worldly women are Christians? BIG mistake. All you need to do is look in the Bible and find it was ususally the demonically possessed who shed their clothes. No different today.

Any local Mennonite groups where you live? They know how to make proper attire.

Modesty can be a bit of a problem in this world we live in. However, in addition to sewing, there are many stores that do cater to the modest. With the online venues, even more options are available.

As a lady who typically wears only dresses/skirts, it is simply a matter of shopping with care and taking my time. I may not have the latest in fashion, but, ah well.

With the young ladies and gentlemen, we all (male and female) have a responsibility to teach them. We spend so much time focusing on the young ladies, but often forget the young men. Their current fashion of wearing their underwear showing and pants way to large and below their hips can lead to a show that just should not be happening. Add this to the open or missing shirts and not much is left covered besides the thighs.

Between skin tight and so loose it is falling off, they both leave little to the imagination. Our younger folks do have a hard time of it. But, they deserve good examples and guidance.
