christians and pre-marital sexPosted : 28 May, 2011 07:27 AMForgive me for this subject but I am amazed at how many christians are justifying pre-marital sex. The Bible is 100% clear that fornication is a sin!!! I wholeheartedly believe that we should stay pure and i as a man am not ashamed of it. Have you gals run into this same problem with fellow christians? Thanks so much for your input! Mark |

christians and pre-marital sexPosted : 28 May, 2011 09:39 AMI've run into that problem many times. It's not so much that people think that I am crazy for keeping myself pure until marriage. They think that's fine. But they think that it's a "personal decision" and if they don't want to keep themselves pure, it's no big deal...and I'd better not tell them otherwise. Yes, some of these people are Christians. They say that the rules in the Bible just aren't practical or are too strict in these modern times. It's really sad. |

christians and pre-marital sexPosted : 28 May, 2011 10:48 AMI agree, that is sad! Did you mean christians have said that The Bible is too strict and is not practical for today or non-christians? Thanks. |

christians and pre-marital sexPosted : 28 May, 2011 12:21 PMI've heard both Christians and non-Christians say that the Bible is too strict or that it isn't practical for today. Of course, I do have to wonder about the ones who claim to be Christians...the ones who say that about the Bible also tend to pick and choose what other parts of the Bible they want to use and believe. I have doubts about just how genuine their faith really is. |

christians and pre-marital sexPosted : 29 May, 2011 10:38 AMAmen to that Pixy! Why read the Bible or even believe what it says if your not going to live by it? It is a heart issue not just not commiting the sin! I really appreciate everybodies feedback on this very tradgic problem in the church today! |

christians and pre-marital sexPosted : 30 May, 2011 04:33 AMI agree to what @bcpianogal said. Some people only seek God's word for comfort and reject the warning of sin, which is really sad. But as said, it is a personal choice, but i think that choice is influenced by parents a lot. I wish parents would be more responsible in rearing their kids though. |

christians and pre-marital sexPosted : 30 May, 2011 02:36 PMyes the problem of pre-marital sex is present in most if not all cultures and churches. there are people who attend church and may even get baptized but are not fully committed to what the Bible teaches. The Word says sex before marriage is fornication which is sin. If God is against it then so am i |

christians and pre-marital sexPosted : 1 Jun, 2011 09:24 AMThanks so much for all your responses to this post! I knew that it was a big problem in the church but it is nice to get other christians feedback on it. We need to pray for a revival of repentance in this area and in all areas of sin for that matter! Another area of great concern is christians watching TV and Movies that are inappropriate for christians to watch! I am far from perfect myself but the Bible says, "avoid all appearance of evil". It is not legalism to want to do what is right!! Mark |
