IaoKim View Profile History	Comparing/Treating Pets as Human Babies Posted : 23 Jul, 2011 09:59 PM When someone refers to their pet as their baby, treats their pet as their baby, or compares having a pet to parenthood I just get so riled up! To me the mere notion so belittles and demeans the incredible miracle of human life made in the image of God and the incredible blessing and responsibility it is to have a child and to raise him in a way that is honoring to God. Don't get me wrong, I love animals and I even think pets can be considered part of the family though in a much different and lesser sense than a human family member. I realize that most people who do compare their pets to human babies don't intend to belittle the value of a human baby or being the parent of a human child, but to me there just seems to be no way around it. View Profile History	Comparing/Treating Pets as Human Babies Posted : 24 Jul, 2011 04:41 AM A pet has is no real comparison to a human baby. I have a cat, she is my best buddy. She is special to me. However, My Sons are my heart, and I love them second to Loving God. I know what you mean some people talk like that about animals. I have a girlfriend she is 56 never been married and had 5 cats and one large dog. She told me many times she loves her animals better than some people, and she confesses to be Christian. It maybe because she never had a human child though. If she did, that thought may have changed. ps I do have to meet a man who is accepting to my cat because I have keep her. :laugh: Post Reply

I do, however, know a lot of people who seem to have lost sight of the fact that their pets are not human. Many of them are single and/or have never had children of their own. Perhaps they are turning their nurturing instincts to the "next best thing"? Post Reply
nightfarmer View Profile History	Comparing/Treating Pets as Human Babies Posted : 24 Jul, 2011 10:35 PM has any one seen this huge bumper sticker ,well the one i saw nearly took up half a tail gate,, WELLCOME TO AMERICA WHERE we save the whales, the owls the wolves etc..... and we kill our unborn children!! wellcome to america..... _______________________ isnt it realy true ,and realy sad,,iam sure you can put cat or dog or whhat ever in place ,iam not sure the specific ones on the sticker but iam sure you get the idea.. ____________ i love animals too ,and its amazing the bond and connection that there can be,,,,especial between a horse and rider for some ,i never accomplished that ,but its amazing,, but it seems to have gotten way out of balance here in the US dont you agree,, i still love the loyalty of a dog,and had connection with several types of animals all fine,,but they dont have souls,, what gets me most i know some who travel 7 hour drives to supposedly save a dog or cat,and spend hundreds doing so,, but if i bring up the topic of feeding hungry children the room goes silent as if its something no one wants to see ,same goes for rights of unborn children ,its a topic people afraid to make a stand on,, but save the dam cat in a tree or dog in flood waters or horse of a cliff it makes the news and people are heros,,, BRING up the topic hey you want to be apart of feeding sweet little children or helping them in enrole inschool for $100 YEAR OR 10 $ A MONTH,,,,the room goes silent ,,,so sad,, maybe its time to shoot the horse and feed the souls,,, sorry kinda harsh but (isnt the world backwards) THE END SORRY GOT CARRIED AWAY Post Reply
Mercymay View Profile History	Comparing/Treating Pets as Human Babies Posted : 25 Jul, 2011 05:12 AM I have two daughters and am guilty of treating our dog as the youngest son, I do call him son. I can�t help it as his company cured my nerves (saved me doctor�s fee & medication). He is over protective of us and always ready with his warmest welcome every time we come home. When he learns our routine, he wakes us up like an alarm that cannot be put off. At our time to come home, he is there at the door waiting always excited. As his favorite meal is rice and fried or roast chicken, we go the extra mile to provide or he will go on hunger strike and we always surrender in fear he might get sick. When I look at him I cannot thank God enough for gifting me with this bundle of joy. So, I do treat our dog like a human kid, I think more pampered as there are three of us giving him affection, and I think sometimes he forgets he is a dog and act more like a kid. Post Reply

Why get riled up? Since it is true, what does that say about some people? I do not call my cats- babies. I just call it as I see it. Oh, I agree that animals have no souls. It is a great compliment to the pet that is smarter than people-because it has no soul. What does that say about those people? My deaf cat is just so smart he leads me to his food in the morning. he also leads me to anything he wants. he is more loving than my x wife ever was-fact. he watches over me when I sleep. My other smart cat also lets me know when strangers are around. I also have the meanest cat in the world-a little mean 8 pound killer cat. She has no fear. I mean as long as they treat Humans with Dignity and Love and Compassion�why should anyone be upset with the way they treat their pets? Sure�some do tend to go Overboard, but�hey! I have had several Dogs as Pets. Not One of them has ever Lied to me or Abused my Friendship or Stole from me or did me any kind of Wrong! They all Showed me Love and Affection and Devotion and Obedience! In The Army I�ve seen Dogs DIE for Mankind! I would not be Surprised to find them in Heaven. All of my �Dogs� were my Best Friends and I will Never Forget them. Post Reply

I do want to say that our Lord, my 3 teenagers, family and friends were there for me, when my husband passed away, but it was my little dog that also helped me get through these rough days.
