What in a profile photo that turns you off?

I've noticed on here and another dating website, that men sometimes have their profile pictures be the following:

Wearing sunglasses so we can't see their eyes

scowling (looking tough?)

wearing a baseball hat (which is not always a bad thing)

smiling from ear to ear, wearing sunglasses and a hat while proudly holding up a large recently deceased fish .

seeing their age and seeing their photo is clearly of them 20 years younger. Or, their baby picture. What's with that?

I wanted to add this disclaimer: The most important thing is what they have written in their profile and who they are on the inside. Not what they look like.

Turn Offs:

Group photos where you don't know which one she is.

Pouting, not smiling, or pics with her mouth closed.

A bunch of pics zoomed way up to her face.

A sense of humor, playfulness, and having fun are all good, but just her alone in her room making goofy faces isn't.

A bunch of pictures w/ dark lighting.

Turn Ons:

Good lighting.

Being outside.

Wearing a beautiful dress.

Having fun.

Colorful clothing.

Being plucky or perky. Like your happy you woke up that morning and can't wait to go live your day.

Also it's good to have a variety. These aren't commandments or judgements based on shallowness or anything just saying what we respond to and draws us in helplessly like a magnet and makes us think we just gotta say something. And the turn ons I listed should go a long way toward doing that. If you non-verbally communicate that you love yourself and your body, chances are we will agree. We really are that simple sometimes. Just be confident.

Oh yeah, I've wanted to ask this for a while btw, but what is up with chicks thinking that everytime they get in a car that they MUST take a picture? It's not good or bad just hillarious if anything really. Why do you do that?

Turn offs?

Scowls

Bare chests

Sunglasses and hats (at the same time)

Photos of you with your arm around someone, with that someone clearly cut out of the picture

The picture not matching your age

You are so far away I can't tell what you look like

Only one, fuzzy, picture

Only one picture

Only scenic pictures and none of you

Good things: Variety. Inside/outside shots. Full or at least half body shots. If you have kids, you with them. You doing one of the things you listed as being interested in

I don't like the "look at my muscles", "look at my chest", or "I'm just so good looking" pics. If the picture is deliberately posed with a "smoldering look"... well, no thanks. I like to see a picture or two with people doing things or just being themselves.

Also, if there is a woman in the picture I think an explanation "My daughter is 20, and a very important part of my life" or whatever would be in order. C'mon, you really want me to be interested in someone that posts three pics, each with a different woman and no explanation? I'm not even curious.

Bar or party pictures and others that portray a strong interest in something I'm not at all interested in also turn me off.

Brandon, bored = car photo. And sometimes they turn out pretty good, too! But yeah, there are a lot of car photos out there.

Turn offs for guys' photos:

1) Any photo where he is half-naked (seeing your chest is NOT a turn-on for me, and I don't care how great you look.)

2) Showing dead animals -- I don't mind guys who love to go hunting, and I don't mind seeing dead animals that they've killed, but if that's how they would describe themselves through pictures, it's just a little creepy.

3) Photos where I can't tell what you really look like. If the pictures are small, fuzzy, dark, etc., I'm probably going to move right on past your profile. And I might not answer messages from you either, unless I just send the "We wouldn't make a good match" response.

4) Pictures of you with your last girlfriend. Come on. Get over her already.

5) Pictures of you with your mom. I know you love her dearly, but you don't really need pictures of her on a dating site, now do you? I'd worry about some apron-string syndrome if you did. If it's a picture of your whole family, that's fine...just you and mom, NO.
