Ok Ladies,

What type of puppy should I get and what should I name it to win ladies over. Thanks for your help in this life or death matter. :dancingp:

I just adore my Beagle buddy, Tristan. The Lord has shown me much through my little pal. He has been a welcome distraction and brought me much joy...and he's clever, too!

Get a super cuddly puppy, like a lab, golden retriever, husky, malamute, etc. Something with an irresistible face and plenty of fur! Or, just go for heartbreaking...like a beagle, basset hound, or other hound-type dog. Their eyes will do all the attracting work for you!

As for a name, stick with something generic, like "Puppy" or "Buddy". That way when a girl asks what its name is, you can honestly say "Well, I've just been calling him 'Puppy', but I probably should find a real name...any suggestions?" Of course, you want the generic name to be something you and the dog could live with permanently!!!

I'm really not a dog person at all, but my family had a poodle when I was little, and I adored her! She was SO cute, with her dark curly hair (truly one of the family -- my dad and I both have dark curls) and HUGE brown eyes. She was sweet and cuddly, too, like a BIG teddy bear.

As far as names go, I think it's cool when a guy shows some creativity and thought there, rather than just picking something generic (opposite of what pianogal said, I know!). Names should always have some kind of personal significance, I think.

I vote for a beagle or a lab. You should name him Dynamite. When you go to take him for a walk in the park, it'll be like fishing with dynamite because all the ladies are going to want to talk to you!

Sheltie's. I'm not a dog person either, but I absolutely love shelties. And Scottish Terriers too. (Lots of girls like small dogs.)

However, keep in mind that the girl you're are trying to attract, may not like dogs. So, this might not work.

P.S., have you ever thought of CATS?? Just saying. ^..^

Haha sorry no cats allowed. They aren't healthy to have around, but that's another topic. Plus they don't listen like a trained dog will. The ladies want to know you have your pet under control haha.

For my two cents:

A basset hound

An Australian shepherd

The basset, with those soulful and adoring eyes, running and tripping over her ears says...hey, I may not be perfect to anybody else, but I am so comfortable in my wrinkly skin. I don't care if you laugh at me or love on me as long as I get your attention and make you smile. I love EVERYBODY.

The Australian shepherd on the other hand says the exact opposite. If you take me home and I choose to stay with you, nobody will ever bother you again. I will keep you safe always. We may not run and play like that goofy basset, but I am quiet confidence and will provide you with unending care and love.....and I will be for you only.

Not going to comment on what a yip yip dog says about a guy (imho). Well, at least, not other than...here Mr. Coyote....would you like a doggy snack?

As for names, have fun. :)

Well, even more important than the dog type, whatever it be, cute and furry, big or small, long ears or short...

It's really good to train your dog not to stick it's face...places. I've seen this happen to people before, and it's a little embarrassing, cute dogs are awesome but a well-trained dog that knows not to jump up on people and starting sniffing them means their owner put a lot of time into teaching them what not to do.

Just throwing in my 2 cents, I've wanted a Bernese Mountain dog for several years now. If/when I finally am able to have one, I plan on naming him Arrhenius.
