All false religions, which includes certain aberrant forms of “Christianity”, assume an inherent “goodness” or “righteousness” residing deep within the soul of mankind that can save from the wrath of God’s coming judgment against sinners.

I’m not as familiar with either culture as I need to be (not proud of that, but I’m moving closer to that goal).
Nevertheless, you point is well received. Languages in time cannot be separated from their original culture. The fact the Holy Spirit chose to use specific languages at a specific period of time when He inspired the original writers who penned the original autographs is very important. That point cannot be minimized!
Sadly, bad interpretation prevails among certain Christian groups because too many wanna-be-“interpreters” overlook key components of hermeneutic methodology

As we’ve seen already. Words, including belief, faith and works MUST be understood IN their CONTEXT which ALSO does not overlook their history

Same thing goes for the concept and meaning of “faith”.If anyone wants a good example of demon faith playing out on the airwaves check out Kenneth Copeland’s “faith”.
Kenneth says. “I have faith enough to heal anybody but I can’t do anything about your faith”! So if Kenneth can’t heal you, it’s your own stinking fault!!
But seriously and curiously, why does the great Kenneth Copeland need to go to doctors to cure his health issues. Seems to me, he’s just like all those other faithless rats!!?? Oh well, maybe that old demon faith isn’t so good after all

@LittleDavid; In a Messianic translation of the Greek Scriptures he translates "trust" rather than "faith". I like his choice as "faith" has morphed into a abstract idea for some.

Matthew 28:18-20: Jesus says, "All authority in heaven and **ON EARTH** has been given to **ME**! Therefore go and make disciples of all nations... teaching them to **OBEY EVERYTHING I HAVE COMMANDED YOU**!! And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age!"
Hebrews 5:9 Jesus became the source of salvation for **ALL WHO **OBEY** HIM**!
James 1:22-25: Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.**DO WHAT IT SAYS**! Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it--not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it--they will be blessed in what they do!

There are about 400 New Testament commands which God's saints should all strive to keep with the hope of countless eternal **REWARDS** for faithful and loving service!!
Revelation 22:12 Jesus says, “Behold I am coming soon! My **REWARD** is with Me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done!”
Matthew 16:27: Jesus says, “The Son of Man is going to come in His Father's glory with His angels and THEN He will **REWARD** each person according to what he has done!"
John 16:12-14: Jesus says, "I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own, he will only speak what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify Me because it is from Me that he will receive what he will make known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from Me what he will make known to you!" {The Holy Spirit inspired all the words written in the New Testament that Jesus told him to inspire to write: by Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, Peter, James and Jude!}
John 17:6,8: Jesus says, "I have revealed You to those whom You gave Me out of the world. They were yours, You gave them to Me and they have **OBEYED YOUR WORD**... For I gave them the words you gave to Me and they accepted them!
Luke 6:46-49: Jesus says, "Why do you call Me, 'Lord, Lord' and do not do what I say?? As for everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and **PUTS THEM INTO PRACTICE**, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears My words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete!"
John 12:48: Jesus says, "There is a judge for the one who does not accept My Words; the very words I have spoken will condemn them at the Last Day!"
Romans 6:17,18; But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to **OBEY FROM YOUR HEART** the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. You have been set free from sin and become slaves to righteousness!
