Posted : 11 Aug, 2025 11:29 AM The Bible says "REMAIN in me and I will REMAIN in you" (John 15) If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. (John 15:6) Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off. (Romans 11:22) NIV or Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in His goodness. Otherwise, thou also shalt be cut off. Romans 11:22 (King James) Our assurance of salvation is while we REMAIN in Christ and CONTINUE IN THE LORD. Post Reply

Posted : 13 Aug, 2025 07:00 AM Moonlight, I “congratulate” you for being a “pop christian” (ie popular Christianity). In fact, Jesus warned that this kind of religious populism denotes the broad way that leads to destruction. Many ignorant Christians believe that Jesus was warning unbelievers when he taught about the broad way that leads to hell. In truth, Jesus was speaking to religious people, deeply religious people like the Pharisees, who depended on their own righteousness, their good deeds and their religious traditions to bring them to heaven. It’s a very said story that is told with each poll taken of people calling themselves “Christian”. Those who have unwittingly placed their faith in their own righteousness to keep themselves saved and who place their eternal security in their man made church traditions. Polls simply reflect biblical warnings that consistently indicate a very troubling high degree of biblical ignorance and self-righteousness that lead only to hell. I don't like some songs in my head. And I don't like some words going through my head. Seemed like an anthem song to the perishing. Like what is going on today with people glorying in their shame. (Philippians 3:19) Like the LGBTQ PLUS movement. TRUE our own righteousness does not get us to heaven. Our hope is Christ Jesus and our righteousness is by faith. Our righteousness by works is filthy rags. And some take that filth to a new level. Such as the abomination of desecration. There are many abominations, and some want to bring them into the church. But as the old hymn says, "My faith is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness. On Christ the Solid Rock I stand. All other ground is sinking sand. All other ground is sinking sand."
