My major disagreements with you are always about your learned church doctrine. I don't wish to start another argument with you. I agree with you in principle about giving. However I disagree the Bible teaches the NT Church members to tithe (1/10th) to the Church. It is not that cut and dry, nor do I desire to Biblically explain where it all came from. - Actually the NT paradigm expects much more.- Post Reply

I don't need 10% Tony to tell me what to do with my money, I can work out what, when and how I need to give. I have the Holy Spirit. Post Reply

It was something the Jewish people did to try to buy favor with The Lord but that isn't how it works folks You can't have a wicked heart and try to win favor with God. That is what the Pharisees tried to do. That is why in Luke 18 The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector. The Tax Collector was justified before God NOT THE PHARISEE. 2 Corinthians 9:7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. Alligator View Profile History	God loves a cheerful giver Posted : 19 Jun, 2019 12:30 PM I totally agree that God loves a cheerful giver. I do not know percentages, only what I give. But there is something wrong in the world with all our technology. I grew up with a "plate" being passed for people to put in their cash, check, or nothing. Today, my church has a box as you go out to put money in, but they ENCOURAGE paying over the internet or by phone. I am certain this is not the only church in the US that does this. I believe impersonal technology takes away the emotional satisfaction that many people had by giving cheerfully. Post Reply
