Well known verse. Today at church i heard vs 12-13 which are left out far too much. GOD has great plans, but with faith comes action. That goes for me too. I am glad i heard it today. It is very important to take a verse and put it into context. Here they are, ESV

Jeremiah 29:11-13 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

Good verse! I have great intelligent Men teachers and they really make Bible teaching good for many and encouraging for those Walking with Jesus. I read this verse and many others that are encouraging and uplifting. Also good to fellowship with Other Christians. The Bible supports that. Thanks for Sharing! :)

Moonlight, you most likely would not approve of Jesus or his Apostles OR the prophets who were destroyed 👉because they 👉👉spoke negatively👈👈‼️‼️They were not destroyed because they spoke positively‼️‼️

Remember it was Jesus who spoke more about hell than he spoke about heaven‼️‼️

Jesus also spoke very negatively about false teachers. Perhaps that’s why you don’t want to dwell much on Bible verses that negatively impact your false beliefs.

Not everything you post is positive, Moonlight. Much of your content is negative and much of it is degrading to men.

Thank you RB for posting the encouraging verse from Jeremiah.

Jeremiah sent that message to some Israelites who were facing hardship because of their rebellion against God.

The passage you cited was intended to encourage the Jews to seek God wholeheartedly. They had been exiled to Babylon at the time of the writing because of their prior rebellion and disobedience.

According to Tertilian, Jeremiah was eventually stoned to death by his own people because they got tired of hearing him preach against them.

I should ad this: the Bible doesn’t provide details about Jeremiah’s death and some extra-biblical historical sources disagree with Tetilian. But one thing is biblically clear after a full reading of the book detailing Jeremiah's persecutions. Rebellious Jews grew increasingly enraged at his frequent rebukes against their idolatry and disobedience.

Yes, I do like Jeremiah 29:11.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
