Once again the old adage rings true and has stuck me again: “so old so soon so wise so late” I’m of the belief that finding a Christian mate is a grace and a providence of God especially for those earnestly seeking him. Yes, of course nonbelievers find mates but I’m speaking here to believers. Here are some commands of God that help: 1. Search out a good church. A church that knows the truth, (yes you can tell), a church that can defend the truth, (one that can answer questions about the truth), a church that skillfully teaches the truth and finally one that practices truth taught. Caveat: you must be a true seeker of truth yourself.Obviously that implies obedience to biblical truth you now understand. (For example: if the Bible says do not lust but you ignore your conscience and continue looking at at pornography without even the slightest qualm then forget about finding a truth loving church. Without repentance you could end up finding the truth-hating “church” you deserve—and there’s ALOT of them‼️ 2. Don’t be ashamed of the gospel. Sharing the gospel is always a good way to glorify God AND bust your pride (lots pride busting benefits in rejection) but that’s also a way to meet people who really do love God. Incidentally, with regards to dating, too many people can’t find a mate >>because<< of their pride. They won’t reach out because they’re too afraid of rejection or being misunderstood. To them, their inner pride must be protected at all costs (even at the cost of finding a mate)‼️‼️ So, on they go—“proudly” single (ie protecting their self from all embarrassments),—-on they go disobedient and shy—AND lonely 3. The biggest most exciting and boldest step of all: Overcome pride and shyness with godly humility. God loves a humble heart—so get HIS help‼️‼️ Yes, I’m finding God’s ways are very humiliating but God glorifying. Never knew I had soooo much pride (arrogance) to deal with 4.
