Nice Guys!!Posted : 6 Sep, 2010 05:13 PMNice is a rather generic adjective and a rather passive way of describing yourself. It would be preferable to list the types of things he does that exhibit the quality of being nice. |

Nice Guys!!Posted : 6 Sep, 2010 07:43 PM"Nice guy" means two different things to men and women. To men, it means that they are respectful, polite, non-abusive, generally take care of themselves, and probably modest. |

Nice Guys!!Posted : 6 Sep, 2010 07:59 PMI didn't mean that nice is bad... I simply mean that it's not descriptive enough to tell me anything about the guy. |

Nice Guys!!Posted : 6 Sep, 2010 10:07 PMThere's nothing wrong with being nice at all. I think being oblivious to their own inhibitions is where a lot of people that describe themselves as a victim of caring too much or being too nice go wrong though I think. You can be nice and still be random, active, fun, and happy and NOT desperate, clingy, and controlling. Also if you do nice things and expect something in return for it to any degree, that's not nice, it's using manipulation (aka dishonesty and not upfront) to get what the want because they are afraid or don't know how to make a connection and relate to other people because in reality the only needs and wants they can think of are their own and then they take it out on women like little children that don't get what they want because they don't know how to let go... but to them they don't see any of it that way at all and say it's because they're too nice because it's more convenient to not face your own personal issues, expect more from others than they do themselves, and hope they'll magically find some one else that can magically fix them. |

Nice Guys!!Posted : 6 Sep, 2010 11:34 PMAnd people have such different definitions of nice too... Again, it's just a very generic word that doesn't say a whole lot. I've known rapists and child molesters who consider themselves to be nice because they have likable personalities. And most people are nice sometimes anyways! I don't think I've ever known anyone who was always nasty/mean. You might as well just describe yourself as being a human who breathes, sleeps, and eats food. |

Nice Guys!!Posted : 7 Sep, 2010 04:21 AM"Nice" has too many puppy-like implications. Don't get me wrong, women love puppies. Take one to the park one day, and you'll see for yourself. Just like puppies, "nice guys" make for great friends. Also like puppies though, they don't elicit romantic affections and pitter-patters of the heart. |
