Is the idea of becoming a Pastors wife scary to most woman?Posted : 30 Nov, 2010 12:37 PMMy dad was a pastor, and I can tell you from experience that the wife will be dragged into the ministry, whether she likes it or not. It might be a little different if you have a very large church, but for a small church, its definitely a team effort. |

Is the idea of becoming a Pastors wife scary to most woman?Posted : 30 Nov, 2010 12:53 PMwell, i'd havta be REAL in love with the man!!!!!!!!! It's not searving God that scares me, it's being judged by others in the church!!!!! That's why I have always tried to be super nice and kind, and minister to my pastors wives! (each pastor had one wife, ha-ha) Others can judge so harshly. It can be scarry! |

Is the idea of becoming a Pastors wife scary to most woman?Posted : 30 Nov, 2010 01:32 PMMy mom actually told my dad when they were dating that she did not want to be a pastors wife. I understand, since it seems that, like others have said, you get dragged in right along with him whether you like it or not. While it is wonderful to serve, not all people are cut out to be in the center of attention. From what Ive seen of people in my church, the man does his lifes calling of teaching and reaching out, while the wife is busy cooking and cleaning for everybody who comes over for ministry, and gets pulled into all kinds of other services she might not be ready for like driving older members places and being a bed and breakfast proprietor at any given moment. And she absolutely cannot say no to anybody for anything. For my family, I am very thankful that my mom told this to my dad, because he would have been a terrible pastor and led many astray (long story). |

Is the idea of becoming a Pastors wife scary to most woman?Posted : 30 Nov, 2010 03:23 PMFor me, no the idea is not scary, maybe because I was a PK, and also saw what my mom did. So I have a good idea what it would be like as a Pastor's wife. |

Is the idea of becoming a Pastors wife scary to most woman?Posted : 30 Nov, 2010 06:10 PMI used date a guy who was thinking about going into the ministry. I am convinced he will a Pastor someday. We were talking about marriage at the time and I approached our Pastor's wife for her 2c. This is surprising, but she said you really don't have to have "a calling", that all you really need to do is is love your husband. Give Him the support He needs and serve with Him. She said it isn't easy, but out of love for her husband, she took the role. |
