I agree with Thunder. And babygirl.

I don't think each person has ONE person (and one only) that is their "perfect" mate.

If we follow God's leading and search His will for us, we can find someone who compliments us and can help us be the person God wants us to be.

I once thought soulmates was the real deal in my youth, but as I've gotten older I don't see it as God's Word about relationships. I do however, believe that through God's design and if it is His purpose for me, that there's going to be someone who is not "perfect", but will be the perfect man for me, and I will be suitable and perfect for the man. I realize that God might not have in mind for me to be with anyone. That could be. It's not what I want, but that's also a possibility. Anyway, I circled the block (:glow:) but yes, I do believe "God has someone made specifically for you". ~GraceMae

i dont believe in it. what is the ratio of males to females i wonder....i'm pretty sure it's not 1-1. if they existed then that would mean that some people were born to be alone. *shurgs*

If we're talking soulmates in the sense that there's one perfect person out there for us, we're tasked with finding and marrying them, and if we mess it up, then we will just be unsatisfied forever, then I don't believe in that. However, I don't believe that God has multiple options for us that he'd be happy with no matter who we choose. I believe God brings us into marriage with the person he ordains. However, sometimes he ordains multiple marriages in a person's life. A mistake made early in life can be redeemed, and just because a spouse dies doesn't mean you are destined to be alone the rest of your life.

Tulip

"However, sometimes he ordains multiple marriages in a person's life."

Are you saying that God ordains us to break a covenant with a spouse? Can you clear that up for me please?

I think I know what Tulip is trying to say. I think he is saying that he doesn't believe that we have just one 'soulmate' because if that is true, then when we make mistakes of our youth or a spouse dies, that's it. Am I close Tulip? I'll let you answer.

I agree with Thunder to an extent. I had made what I believed and what seemed a wise and intelligent choice in a spouse when I dated my only serious bf since my divorce. We started talking forever and God said, 'No, he's not the one'. Now, I could have married him anyway. God leaves choice up to us, but I would have also had to deal with the consequences.

My steps are ordered and if I follow His leading, He will orchestrate our meeting and ordain our union.

I am in doubt.

Call me romantic but I really would love the idea that my soulmate is out there somewhere.

I like even more the idea that God has set that person apart for me.

But I still have a question. Why has this person not been put on my path?

Like I said. I am really in doubt.

Sos,

From my experience, when we yield areas of our lives (the goal is to yield it all) we must wait on God to process us and prepare us to receive it.

It's the same as the other areas of our life where we must wait on our season and God's timing. It is not always easy to do. If I can keep it real, our body wants what we can righteously have only while married, and at least for me, it's a challenge to keep my thoughts pure. But I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. :peace: But jumping the gun is what gets us into messes we end up crying out to God to save us from.

In the meantime, we should let God heal us, read our Word so it can transform our minds and grow our fruit of the Spirit, so we are ready and fit for the spouse we desire.
