God made woman of the man, for the man, for the glory of the man. He did a very good thing. There is no lack of misappropriations and misinterpretations of scriptures by the masses and the term "Help Meet" is not an exception. It comes from Genesis 2:18 "And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him." Going back to basic 4th grade English, we need to look up the words "help" & "meet" to define their meanings AND parts of speech. "Help" in the context is the noun which means an aid or assistant. "Meet" is an adjective. It means "suitable, proper, convenient, qualified." For a woman to say that she is a "Help Meet" makes no literal sense. It's the same as saying that she's an "assistant suitable" or a "help qualified" God made a help suitable for him. God made man in the image of God, for the glory of God.
