God made woman of the man, for the man, for the glory of the man. He did a very good thing. There is no lack of misappropriations and misinterpretations of scriptures by the masses and the term "Help Meet" is not an exception. It comes from Genesis 2:18 "And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him." Going back to basic 4th grade English, we need to look up the words "help" & "meet" to define their meanings AND parts of speech. "Help" in the context is the noun which means an aid or assistant. "Meet" is an adjective. It means "suitable, proper, convenient, qualified." For a woman to say that she is a "Help Meet" makes no literal sense. It's the same as saying that she's an "assistant suitable" or a "help qualified" God made a help suitable for him. God made man in the image of God, for the glory of God. Add what is also written before the fall which is the 2 shall become one flesh and many would suggest that that indicates a coming together in unity and effectively acting/working together as one. Also indicating a partnership. Now add ..there is no male or female but all are one in Christ, and that christ came and died for all then I believe it's fair to say we are of equal worth but with differing roles. There is no mention of women being possessions or property until after the fall and I would suggest the only reason they are mentioned as such in the mosaic law is not because that is how God sees them but rather because of the way man saw them because of the hardness of their hearts and God was making some provision for women in a society that didn't value them. If you think God wouldn't make laws that don't reflect his perfect will then just take a look at the mosaic law concerning divorce and then what Jesus said about it Now when the fall came, what God created as a perfect partnership became inperfect and it is the fault of both, and God details how both will be imperfect due to sin when he addresses Eve. Your heart will be for your husband (wanting to take his position) and he will rule over you. A consequence of sin and something that had not happened previous because it hadn't been mentioned plus if it had happened then God wouldn't need to state something that was already in place. Or he would have said continue to rule over you. Paul also addresses the same things when he says wives respect your husband's and men love your wives as christ loves the church. Now if we look at relationships and seek as best we can to have one from a garden of eden perspective when God said it is very good then we will see that partnership, and the scriptures like from the man , for the man etc in a very different light than if we are looking from a broken sinful world perspective when things are not viewed in the way God intended. Then we will have good relationships and will treat the other sex more like Jesus did with Mary Magdelene, the woman at the well, the woman caught in adultery, Mary and Martha, all the others ,and his mother who he had responsibility for once Joseph died but didn't see or treat her as property. HC is the only other man posting that on biblical that knows what the Bible actually supports. You should continue to Post and teach the Right Biblical teachings. :) HC is 1 who tries to teach and respect Women and others. WNT does not know what he is talking about and uses Bible to support his mindset like others on here. I support everything Bible teaches. I know what the Bible supports because I have Men teachers who follow Jesus Christ. Post Reply

So why does the stench have to accompany the rising of the moon? It doesn't have to be that way but is a clear choice made by the moon. The moon chooses to spew a stench all over the forums so we all are forced to hold our noses. It's so sad this place has to smell like a cesspool all because of a stinky moon. Post Reply
