Never Initiate Divorce, Never Remarry Never legitimate (to initiate) 2. Sometimes Divorce, Never legitimate (as long as one’s former spouse is still alive) Never Remarry 3. Sometimes Divorce, Sometimes Remarry AND there’s more on the way‼️ Been wanting to discuss these but last time I tried my threads got riddled with endless attacks that had nothing to do with the topic. There were two main parties of rabbis: the Shammaites and the Hillelites. Shammaites rabbis were the “conservative” scholars and the Hillelites rabbis where the liberals in the day. Shammaites believed you could divorce only in cases of adultery/fornication. Hillelites believed one could divorce for any reason even if a wife over cooked a meal. Post Reply

At least in the secular world. But also when we look deeply at the old testament we can see that men spreading their seed among many women was encouraged. It's easy to see why because at times it appeared to be necessary. At times of war it was the men who fought and died and that could have been most of the men from a particular city or region. So what was left in the aftermath? Few men and many husband less women. So the obvious thing to do was to build the population back up and the easiest way was for the men left to take more women into his household and produce more offspring. Is this what God wanted? I don't know but that was then and this is now when we don't need to take on more women to increase our numbers. But sadly our birth numbers are diminishing because of financial difficulties and the lack of quality women to reproduce with. Post Reply

There’s more to it than l realized at first. In fact, I was so tossed and turned believing one thing about divorce and then believing another. Each time learning more about the entire subject matter and the context of each passage. It’s been quite the journey ‼️‼️ Post Reply
