Is "Once Saved, Always Saved" what the Bible teaches?

The Bible says "REMAIN in me and I will REMAIN in you" (John 15)

If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. (John 15:6)

Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off. (Romans 11:22) NIV

or

Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in His goodness. Otherwise, thou also shalt be cut off. Romans 11:22 (King James)

Our assurance of salvation is while we REMAIN in Christ and CONTINUE IN THE LORD.

Some write "Once Saved Always Saved" and of the hyper grace of God in which we can NEVER lose salvation for any reason.

Sounds like a license to sin.

Sounds like a false assurance of salvation.

The Bible says that we will be recognized by our fruit.

The Bible says, “Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. (Matthew 12:33)

I am not so sure about this doctrine. To get to the view of "Once Saved Always Saved" one must overlook an awful lot of scripture and disregard a host of verses.

People can walk away from God after they have received Salvation. They Choose to walk away. Man has free will.

No the Bible does not teach Once Saved, Always Saved". If you are no longer in fellowship with God through Jesus Christ, you are not walking with God anymore.

Repent and get back to following Jesus.

They Story of the Sower in the Bible is a good example of those failing by the wayside.

You have sent to John and he has testified to the truth. Not that I accept human testimony; but I mention it that you may be saved. (John 5:33-34)

💯💥💡🕊️🕯️ yes you are right. One can choose to walk away. Paul here is speaking to the Church of galatia made up of a body of Christian believers

Galatians 5 19 Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, moral impurity, promiscuity,

20 idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions,

21 envy, drunkenness, carousing, and anything similar, about which I tell you in advance-as I told you before-that those who practice such things 🌟 will not inherit the kingdom of God 🌟

“Christians also fall and perform the lusts of the flesh. David fell horribly into adultery. Peter also fell grievously when he denied Christ. However great as these sins were, they were not committed to spite God, but from weakness. When their sins were brought to their attention these men did not obstinately continue in their sin, but repented. Those who sin through weakness are not denied pardon as long as they rise again and cease to sin. There is nothing worse than to continue in sin. If they do not repent, but obstinately continue to fulfill the desires of the flesh, it is a sure sign that they are not sincere.” (Luther)

Moonlight and W&T you’re both in error.

There is no such thing as a 👉true Christian👈 “losing salvation”‼️‼️

There is also no such thing as as a 👉truly saved👈 person continuing in sin just because he clings to some kinda false “once saved always saved” false interpretation‼️‼️

Moonlight or cupcake, (can’t remember which name she went by at the time), once claimed that Judas lost his salvation‼️‼️‼️

Jesus made it VERY clear that Judas (the son of perdition) was chosen to 👉fulfill scripture👈. Jesus also made clear that Judas was a 👉devil from the beginning👈‼️‼️ How much clearer could Jesus have said it⁉️⁉️ Jesus never said anything about Judas losing a salvation he never had in the first place‼️‼️‼️

In fact, Jesus very clearly said, when he prayer to the Father, that he “…did not lose ANY the Father gave him…”.

People who want to support the idea of “losing one’s salvation” must forcibly rip Bible verses out of each original context and then impose artificial interpretations into those verses‼️‼️‼️

Well, one can say that those who go to hell were never saved in the first place.
