View Profile History	the good word for today part 7 Posted : 17 Sep, 2009 05:54 AM As surely as gods will prevails,good works are never taken in to account.Paul makes this clear;God has saved us and called us to a holy life-not because of anything we have done but because of his own purposes and grace.This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time(2 Timothy 1;9)The additional words"called us to be holy"remove any doubt.If you say that god could foresee who would be holy and therefore elect them,you invert pauls order.So we may safely infer that if he elected us to make us holy,he did not elect us because he saw that we would be holy.The two things are obvviously contradictory.
