I'd looooove to know why ( an experience that continues to baffle)

A while back I was messaging this dude. Our profiles had some pretty strong differences; he was into sports, I'm not, he was dead set on being with a non-drinker and I do love a glass of wine. Either he didn't bother to read my profile or didn't care as much about the drinking thing as he claimed. I'm pretty open to giving everyone a shot, so we started talking. Eventually, we traded numbers. A little texting led to a couple actual calls. I told him when I was typically free. After this he goes ham on my number and calls me LITERALLY EVERY DAY, SOMETIMES TWICE. I couldn't even get in my car after work without the phone going off! Like give a girl time to breathe.

Then he pestered me to skype, and I was just sick of the begging so I caved.

It was the worst skype call I've ever had.

The whole time I was on the call, he watched a sports game and barely talked to me about anything of interest. I mostly just saw up his nose because he was using his phone while lying on the couch. He seemed pretty into me, even stating that he was deleting his profile here because he thought I was "the one."

We then talk hobbies. It clearly states on my profile that I love to read, write and dance. I'm hoping to become a novelist one day, and I tell him so. He then starts bashing writers and the whole writing process, snores loudly and says it's such a boring thing and blah blah blah.

By this point, it is confirmed for me that this guy is NOT a good fit, and yet he keeps on saying "IF we do this romantic thing and THAT romantic thing..."

Call ends and I decide to let this guy know via email that we are completely incompatible and I hope he finds a better fit for his interests.

He responded angrily. VERY angrily. He also clearly still had a profile when I blocked him the next day.

I would LOVE to know why you would even bother skyping a girl you hated the hobbies of. Why you'd call someone multiple times a day when you weren't even friends and why you would plan a skype call a week in advance, only to watch the Mets game the whole time. I just... UGH. :\

It wasn't exactly a nightmare, but it wasn't great either.

Also, to anyone who's ever asked for my number and I am/was hesitant to give it out, you can blame this walnut for ruining my trust of many CDFF guys.

Sorry that happened Sis. At least you never dated that guy. Dating can be more dangerous. Vetting people on the phone is much safer and more practical than actual dating.

From what I read, sounds to me like he needs feminine validation, and so the other aspects of your differences didn't really matter.

Your last comment had me ROTFLOL! Keep the faith Sister. God is preparing a man for you and you for him. In the meantime, we win some, we learn some. Don't give in to anything any man (or anyone else) is pressuring you to do. At that moment his interests are self-centered and self-serving. Do something either because you want to do it or because the Holy Spirit leads you to do it. No decision made in love is compulsory, it is free. God bless

P.S. To answer your question, he would Skype you and message you because he thinks you are pretty and because you are kind to him and he wants more of that. This kinda dove tails off of what Keith had to say.

That wasn't very cool of him. Sorry you went through that. We're probably similar in that we're too NICE and don't want to come across as rude. I've had to deal with guys who are persistant and unable to read certain clues to my disinterest. It's hard but generally more effective to be direct when you're uncomfortable with something.

Easier said than done.

I hope you're treated better in the future!

Wow. That sounds a lot like a narcissistic sociopath I met named El Castor off this site. Love bomb you but basically just wanted you to subscribe to his channel because that was a way for him to get money for his one man show. No class. Also, beware of a user named SpiritMentor. I found out that he lives in a different location than where he claims and his "reputable modeling agency" is a pornography site and that he is with a woman. Probably sex trafficking together or she is his victim. Reported him, so hopefully this site will do something. It's very scary out there ladies. Yikes!

Some people don't take the time to read profiles so that could be the problem.

Or some people completely lie in their profiles. So that could be the case too.
