What does God see as Adultery?
Posted : 13 Feb, 2024 11:52 AM

I know that the Bible says in Matthew 19:9 that a person can divorce their spouse if their spouse cheats on them I also know that in Matthew 5:27-30 Jesus teaches that if a man lusts after a woman then he has committed adultery with her in his heart and that he is at risk of hell fire.

God tells us that if our spouse commits the sin of lust then we can divorce them?

I learned from a Bible professor called Tim Mackie in his teachings on the book of Matthew that to lust after someone means to look at them for an extended period of time wanting this person and somehow giving your own mind release by this sin of lust. Lust is also a sin that can bring havoc to many areas of a persons life I have attended Churches where men have hit on me in front of their wives or made their wives. I have also seen cases where men made their wives attend the gym to lose weight after having given birth etc these behaviours are demonic and are the sin of lust.

I think that if a person is married to a person who never repents or tries to get delivered and they have the sin of lust then I believe that its Gods will to divorce this person to save both your soul and theirs.

I think in heaven we can only be friends and somehow even if we don't understand all of what heaven will be like yet we can trust that it will be wonderful.

And yet the church is the bride of Christ in heaven though we will all be like the angels.

Thank God our earthly marriages do not continue in heaven.

I can believe some divorced men post that they are single. Single and ready to mingle. Some people have their marriages annulled civilly or by the church and perhaps regard themselves as single. Plenty of separated people on here, both men and women who are still married and searching. Yes, all types are on here. Even different religions are on here. I have seen Atheists post on here and Muslims and I have seen men posting as women. So we have all types on here. Many say they are in the United States, then say they are in a foreign country. So they post themselves in the country they want to be in. Good when they explain themselves. Good to be transparent even when not upfront.

I wonder if Jimmy Swaggart has passed his porn addiction. At his age, he may be. But on the internet, it is a fingertip away. But in the olden days, there was the Sears Roebuck catalog. One does not need porn; there is always the beach. Even without porn, there is a presence of lust. Hard to believe that any of us were made without it. But now the virtuous Christians want to marry but not have kids. So, what is the point of that? It cheapens marriage. I think people are happier to not marry. But I've been wrong on many things.

Nothing is in secret anymore. Every site we visit on the internet is being recorded. Every word we write on the internet is being recorded. Every word we speak on the phone is being recorded. Nothing is secret anymore. Our every move is recorded.

There is nothing new under the sun, except now me more than ever know that we are being watched.

The Bible speaks of a great cloud of witnesses. (Hebrews 12:1)

Some think of others as among the stars gazing down on us from the stars. Indeed, this is being done.

Then Adonai saw that the wickedness of humankind was great on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of their heart was only evil all the time. (Genesis 6:5)

No temptation will befall us except that which is common to man. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

All that we do has been done before.

WalkNTalk, l agree with some of your posts, you have some worthwhile comments and observations.

I wholeheartedly agree with you about porn (soft core porn) on the beach and other places. But I would add—-sometimes even in church‼️‼️

Some ladies just don’t seem to realize that their short skirts, low cut blouses, short shorts and profoundly revealing yogi pants are just as pornographic as what used to be soft-core porn, that bad men “Christian”, men were viewing years ago‼️‼️ Now these “Christian” men get treated with the same thing nowadays each time a live female “worship” leader, clad in tight fitting revealing clothing, parades her stuff right in front of them—IN CHURCH‼️‼️ Seems to me, only prostitutes used to dress like that—now church women have adopted the style‼️‼️🤢🤮

In all fairness WalNTalk, your first post might have missed the original point of Iloveroses’ thread comment.

ILoveRoses, I’m not trying to be picky but if Tim Mackie really thinks lust is an ongoing thing then he’s wrong. (I haven’t checked out his comments, I’m taking your word for it). Biblically, a 👉single👈 act of lust is enough to make a man an adulterer.
