Help Meet For Him

God made man in His own image, after His own likeness, for the glory of God. God made woman of the man, for the man, for the glory of the man. He did a very good thing.

There is no lack of misappropriations and misinterpretations of scriptures by the masses and the term "Help Meet" is not an exception. It comes from Genesis 2:18 "And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him."

Going back to basic 4th grade English, we need to look up the words "help" & "meet" to define their meanings AND parts of speech. "Help" in the context is the noun which means an aid or assistant. "Meet" is an adjective. It means "suitable, proper, convenient, qualified." For a woman to say that she is a "Help Meet" makes no literal sense. It's the same as saying that she's an "assistant suitable" or a "help qualified"

God made a help suitable for him.

God made man in the image of God, for the glory of God. God made the woman of the man, for the man, for the glory of the man. 1 Corinthians 11:1-12

fyi

Oftentimes a Man is not a head of household according to what the Bible teaches he should be.

Divorces happen in many of those Cases .

@Moonlight7 I'm reminded of what Jesus said to Saul on the road to Damascus. Saul was highly educated in the teachings of the pharisees. He was a pharisee of pharisees, which would equate to a senior professor of theology in today's society. Jesus said "It is hard for thee to kick against the p*icks." The p*icks were devices that secured horses to the carriage and if they bucked or kicked against them, it would only cause them pain and would never free them from the confines they're in. So it is when people fight against the Lord. God's words do not change. He means exactly what he says. There are no contradictions in any of the words of God, nor are there any private interpretations of any of the prophecies of the scriptures. When we believe something that is in conflict with God's words, we are believing something that is not true. No matter how hard one might try to make scripture appear to agree with whatever that may be, all they end up doing is causing themselves anguish and they cannot escape the snares that they are in. It's much better to acknowledge the truth than to fight against it.

Theologians literally make a living telling people that God does not mean what he says.

I'm so thankful that God preserved his words for every generation, as he said. If he had not, then we would all be subject to the whims of man and there would be no foundation for what is true.
