It Exists! Would the Racist Christian Enter Heaven's Gates?
Posted : 25 Feb, 2010 12:23 PM

Recent events have led me to research the terms Racism, Racist and Prejudice. Which by the way all have similarities. So many things we do and say are actually the ways and thinking of society and not Christianity. These 3 exist in all forms and fashion within so many around us and even within us.

Posting links might help but maybe they may just be forgotten about and never looked at. But do a mini search if you wish.

What do these types do when it is discovered one is like this?

Do you think, know, believe, a Prejudice person, racist person who says she/he is Christian would enter heaven?

Browned eyed girl.

ITs not to judge but what does one do when discovering this.

It is to help those who are like that.

If it is that I am judging or we are judging it is unintentional.

We would be careful what we think and say here.

Yes, I agree that we all should be careful of what we say in these forums and in life in general; that's exactly my point.

We should pray for them; not judge their salvation.

Barkentine, the young lady has answered your request for definitions. Why are you disregarding her post?

Arch: "i would also like to point out that there is only One Race."

If there was only one race, there would be no such thing as "racism".

Even our gov't knows there are more than one race, just fill out ANY of their forms, or answer the census questionaire.

It's been that way since 1781. If there is only one race, then our gov;t is the most "racist" entity on earth.

Since most people, of all time, in this world are not Christians and will not be counted in the regenerated elect. Imho, the best way to eliminate your beliefs in "racism" is for each race to live in their own country. China does that. Japan does that. Israel does that. Zimbabwe does that. Etc., Etc..

No one else on the face of the earth is obsessed with "racism" as America and Europe. No one.

People of other countries look after there own FIRST.

Folks: I still don't have a reply on the origin of the words "racist" and "racism". I'd like to see how and where these words were first used, all in the name of "brotherhood".

As Christians we're not supposed to look at the outward appearance. Inside we are all the same, and all valued by God. And yes, I do believe that governments that distinguish between "colors" are "racist". By definition.

Sounds to me like governments that "take care of their own first" are built on a selfish worldly principle and not one that God would endorse. Christians are supposed to be selfless. I think Cattle hit in on the head with the scripture he posted. God has no distinction between races. Neither should we.

Akuilfa,

I still have not received a reply on the origin of the two words "racism" and "racist". In any research it is worthwhile to study the origin of words, where applicable.

Would you mind sharing with us your findings?

Thank you.

"If no one calls his own ideas racism and the words only application is to a body of ideas considered to be untrue and evil, then it has no use other than as a kind of fancy curse word."

Hello Bark, hopefully his answers your questions and brings you some peace. Out of respect for the one that orignally posted this issue, this will be my last post on this topic.

Definition

-racism (rā'sĭz'əm)

n. 1.The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others. 2.Discrimination or prejudice based on race.

Word Origin & History

racist

1932 as a noun, 1938 as an adjective, from race (n.2); racism is first attested 1936 (from Fr. racisme, 1935), originally in the context of Nazi theories. But they replaced earlier words, racialism (1907) and racialist (1917), both often used at first in a British or South African context.

I got this info from an online dictionary...

The above "origin" of the word s "racism" and "racist" is hardly scholarship. I repersents mere opinion and supposition. The very title of this thread is supposition.

Below is a more indepth study of the word. According to this, a sexual pervert, who wanted to destroy Christian moral values, was the one who introduced the word to Europe and America.

*********************************

"The Origins Of Racism: The Curious Beginnings Of A Useless Word"

Sam Francis, Ph.D., September 1995

"The Oxford English Dictionary is a multivolume reference work that is one of Western scholarships most remarkable achievementsthe standard dictionary of the English language on what are known as historical principles. Unlike most dictionaries, the OED also provides information on the first historical appearance and usage of words. The range of the erudition in the OED is often astounding, but for AR readers, one of its most interesting entries is for the word racism.

"According to the second edition (1989) of the OED, the earliest known usage of the word racism in English occurred in a 1936 book by the American fascist, Lawrence Dennis, The Coming American Fascism. The second usage of the term in English that the OED records is in the title of a book originally written in German in 1933 and 1934 but translated into English and first published in 1938Racism by Magnus Hirschfeld, translated by Eden and Cedar Paul. Since Hirschfeld died in 1935, before the publication of Dennis book the following year, and had already used the word extensively in the text and title of his own book, it seems only fair to recognize him rather than Dennis as the originator of the word racism. In the case of the word racist as an adjective, the OED ascribes the first known usage to Hirschfeld himself. Who was Magnus Hirschfeld and what did he have to tell us about racism?

"Magnus Hirschfeld (1868-1935) was a German-Jewish medical scientist whose major work was in the field of what came to be known as sexologythe scientific study of sex. Like Havelock Ellis in England and Alfred Kinsey in the United States, Hirschfeld was not only among the first to collect systematic information about sexuality but also was an apostle of sexual liberation. His major work was a study of homosexuality, but he also published many other books, monographs, and articles dealing with sex. He wrote a five-volume treatise on sexology as well as some 150 other works and helped write and produce five films on the subject.

"It is fair to say that his works were intended to send a messagethat traditional Christian and bourgeois sexual morality was repressive, irrational, and hypocritical, and that emancipation would be a major step forward. His admiring translators, Eden and Cedar Paul, in their introduction to Racism, write of his unwearying championship of the cause of persons who, because their sexual hormonic functioning is of an unusual type, are persecuted by their more fortunate fellow-mortals. Long before the sexual revolution of the 1960s, Magnus Hirschfeld was crusading for the normalization of homosexuality and other abnormal sexual behavior."

***************************

This Hirschfeld dude was a pervert. Not a good source for the suppposition of "racism".

Interesting that the words racist, racism, racialist, racial do not appear in Webster's 1828 dictionary. Just pointing it out and not making a point. But I do want to thank Bark for his information cuz it is certainly interesting.

By the way, have any of you ever noticed the racist title of Darwin's book, The Origin of the Species? The full title is "On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life" published on 24 November 1859. Favoured Races? well there you go!

My favorite race is the Indy 500! :yay:
