About sexual relations in marriage.
Posted : 24 Dec, 2018 03:03 PM

"Christians do not have sex before getting married. For example man met a woman and they got married. After the wedding wife found out her husband is an impotent. Is she able to ask for divorce?

Firstly, was there deliberate deception involved on the part of the man knowing that he was impotent but did not tell his future bride? If so, then he has violated the covenant of marriage. Jesus said, "and the two shall become one flesh; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh" (Mark 10:8). He has married her under false pretenses and therefore the marriage is not valid.

"Should people discuss such things before the wedding?"...ABSOLUTELY!!! And I am convinced that the couple you mentioned did not.

Since it is obvious, biglion44 and Singer4u, that both of you are ignorant of the Word of God and His ways, go and learn what the following scriptures mean:

And the LORD passed before him and proclaimed, The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth (Exodus 34:6).

Nevertheless in Your great mercy

You did not utterly consume them nor forsake them;

For You are God, gracious and merciful. (Neh. 9:31)

He is ever merciful, and lends;

And his descendants are blessed (Psalms 37:26)

The LORD is merciful and gracious,

slow to anger, and abounding in mercy (Psalms 103:8)

Gracious is the LORD, and righteous;

Yes, our God is merciful (Psalms 116:5)

For His merciful kindness is great toward us,

And the truth of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD! (Psalms 117:2)

Return, backsliding Israel, says the LORD;

I will not cause My anger to fall on you.

For I am merciful, says the LORD;

I will not remain angry forever (Jeremiah 3:12)

So rend your heart, and not your garments;

Return to the LORD your God,

For He is gracious and merciful,

Slow to anger, and of great kindness;

And He relents from doing harm (Joel 2:13)

So he prayed to the LORD, and said, Ah, LORD, was not this what I said when I was still in my country? Therefore I fled previously to Tarshish; for I know that You are a gracious and merciful God, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, One who relents from doing harm (Jonah 4:2)

Blessed are the merciful,

For they shall obtain mercy (Matthew 5:7)

Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful (Luke 6:36)

But go and learn what this means: I desire mercy and not sacrifice. For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance (Matthew 9:13)

For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more (Heb 8:12)

The merciful man does good for his own soul,

But he who is cruel troubles his own flesh (Proverbs 11:17)

For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment (James 2:13)

But if you had known what this means, I desire mercy and not sacrifice, you would not have condemned the guiltless (Matthew 12:7)
